I've honestly got no idea what point you are making or why you want to use local election turnout to make a point about the reasons people voted in a national referendum on membership of the EU.

Fwiw I am concerned about the democratic deficit of the EU and I'm not in your group of leave voters. It is possible to criticise both the UK and EU democratic set up and want them to change.
 
Why Wouldnt a majority of a populace want Sovereignty? Would New Zealand want to be controlled from Melbourne? Would Japan like to take orders from Beijing? Nor The Isle of Man.. its not Exactly begging Britain or Ireland to Big Boss it...No Thankyou Johnny..No Thankyou Mick! Images of a Manx Power Salute come to mind!
 
There's a special place in Hell for the Remainiac traitors who betrayed their own for EU grants. Europeans are still probably heading for extinction because of all the damage created with immigration and political correctness in the last 50 years.
And those people who shouted loudest like JK Rowling, Tony Blair and Gina Miller should all be made to live on Tower Hamlets estate for the rest of their lives.

I can understand the EU's frustration though, they spend £100m a day for employees on luxury dinners, accommodation and limo travel, and with us leaving that budget will likely be slashed to £75m a day so no more 5 star hotels, play times over for some of them who will now have to sleep in a premier inn and even have to drive their own cars to work. Worst of all, some of them may now actually have to do a days work for the first time ever in their lives.

Tusk, Merkel and Macron should be sent back to Planet Nibiru where they came from on their space craft all those years ago. And then hopefully all us humans can band together and defeat all the reptilians and nonces still living among us pretending to fit in.

I would like some criteria placed around who can stand to become an MP. Nothing too onerous so as to prevent people from any walk of life standing, but just some basic criteria to ensure we get a House full of MPs best placed to lead the country, especitally if it's a house more empowered to plot our course post Brexit.

So a prospective MP should have worked in the real world for 10 years prior to standing. A decade of graft outside of the political parties, NGOs, quangos and all that crap.
Also a time limitation placed on how long one individual MP can serve for. Perhaps 20-25 years as the upper limit.

It's likely won't happen, turkeys and Christmas and all that. But something along those lines would; at one end ensure we have MPs who aren't just lifers in the political bubble. And have hopefully seen life outside of Westminster and ideally London itself. The point being that our MPs are less obsessed with serving the interests of London only.

And at the other end, ensures we don't have a house full of dinosaurs waiting to be carried into the Lords, or carried out in a box. Taking up a spot that some fresh blood with ideas could be better placed for.

That for every Tory dinosaur this would churn out of the system, this limitation would also chuck out Corybn and Abbot, that's just a bonus.

The Ignore button defeats the whole purpose of and rips the guts out of the concept of the Democracy of the Forum!....dont get me wrong..I can see its attraction as a convenient way for a peaceful life... but when someone makes what seems to be an outrageous post....we need to look for reasons in this Wicked World why a person would get into that mode....and just maybe truth and honesty lurk within their sources!

Fair comment Eric...there are some that fall into the Nutter bracket...some genuine nutters...most are just Acts and Entertainment.
You are in the sane and sensible category..always worth reading and with good intellectual stuff...in particular with Brexit...way above my league on that... but I like to experience a whole range of human perception of events and I try to extract alternate angles albeit risking derision!

It’s quite the opposite . How can you blame immigrants if there aren’t any . It’s people don’t want mass immigration so to make up the shortfall in births vs deaths/people leaving they’re trying to come up with other options . You probably didn’t read the article to be honest .

Spoke on the phone to my 94 year old Mother in Poole last night....Asked her about her view on Brexit.
She replied....."Son...in 1940 I was unfortunate as a 15 year old to find myself in a bomb factory....no chance to pursue my dream of studying Art at College.......and I hadnt had much influence on the rise of Uncle Adolf over there in the Pine Forests of Bavaria but what I do know is;
" I HAD TO MAKE SOME F##KING ADJUSTMENTS ".......That.. from a 94 year old who very seldom swears! Her Actual words!

He kept on changing the subject and trying a different angle when Mogg was answering him. He didn't listen to any answer and just shouted points scattergun points and never let him answer. I'm no brexiteer and the reason I brought up Mogg is that he's not a very impressive man by any stretch of the imagination so if O'Brian struggled against him he should go back to shouting over northern plumbers.

It is easy to make Mogg look like a fool yet O'Brian didn't manage it. Shouting over people might impress you but I prefer people making intelligent counter-argumemts.
