Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth

Those of you going and maybe spending sometime up there may be interested in this.

Probably more this.

Despite extensive housing redevelopment on east side of Aston, a number of fine Victorian public houses survive. On the Lichfield Road opposite Grosvenor Road is the Grade II Listed Britannia public house built in 1898, a tall three-storey balustraded building designed by Wood & Kendrick for Mitchells & Butlers Brewery. It is built in brick and terracotta in a Jacobean style probably after Aston Hall and is topped by a statue of Britannia. Internally Victorian decoration survives: the original floor-to-ceiling screen divides the bar from the corridor with its glazed Minton tiles and mosaic floor and the Smoke Room features a glass-etched picture of Britannia.

COWS interviewing someone from the other camp.

We are not the only club with people wanting ST’s.

afcb.co.uk: Villa Park will be rocking – what’s it like when it’s full?

GE: I think it will be a good awayday for travelling fans. But I think it will also be quite intimidating for players and visiting supporters.

When Villa Park is rocking, there aren’t many stadiums like it in the country.
I saw it towards the end of last season when there were a couple of sell-outs and in the play-off semi-final.

Villa have sold 30,000 season tickets this year and had to put a cap on it. They’ve got 7,000 on a waiting list for next season which is just incredible.
They probably could have sold anywhere between 40,000 and 50,000 had they been available.

It’s a great place to be when the team are playing well. When it goes wrong, I’ve seen it turn and become a little uncomfortable and hostile for the home players.

That atmosphere has largely disappeared in the past six to 12 months and I hope it stays away because it’s not nice.

Thanks, myself I will not be going.

Hope it’s a good game.

Thanks JB. VP is a great place to watch football, and it's good that Villa are back in the prem.
Whatever the result on Saturday I hope you Villa fans get to see a lot more proper football than you did the last time you were there:)

Great old stadium Villa Park, up there with Hillsborough as one of my favourites. I last went there for the FA cup defeat a few years ago, shame we played a weak team.

Things are a bit different in 3 seasons but fingers crossed will get use to it.that or back down to the championship I think I'm the only one who loved it there.more games 3 in 7 days on average more for your money haha

What I like to see is us play 4-5-1. Wilson OR King up top (or Wilson up top and King on the side). Not King playing centrally a bit deeper then Wilson. We put an offensive midfielder to link up with Lerma/Billing in the mid. We have enough players to fill that role (Fraser-newWilson-Brooks-Stanislas).

our "old" mainly champo winning players used to love rocking up to big grounds, seemed to thrive in the atmosphere, and raised their games. I'm concerned some of our new faces are not quite like that yet, and may bottle it a bit. I hope I'm completely wrong!

Think with all their new signings, this could be a good time to play Villa.

Remember your playing against championship players WELL Brentford x11 plus a couple of foreigner's UTV

Saw the whole of the Spurs game on Sky.

Eriksen changed the game for Spurs when he came on up until then you were still holding the lead from John McGinn’s goal.

McGinn looks like he could be a really good player for you, hardworking, gets in a tackle, good in the assists stakes and has an eye for goal.

Who would you put down as the player from Villa to watch?

It has to be mcginn, the boy runs all day doesn't stop till the final whistle then runs around Brum for a cool down lol.not bad for a guy costing only £3m shows there's a lot of untapped talent north of the boarder.if any one does a dream team then I would say put him in.premier defenders don't like to be run at and that's what he does every game UTV

Always see the highlights on MOTD there again it's villa so shouldn't take too long to watch LOL BTY hope you guys are bringing the bunting for BIG Tyrone.

Have you seen this, also hit the Nationals at the time.

AFC Bournemouth star Tyrone Mings stunned Cherries fans when he turned up for a seven-a-side kickabout at Littledown last night.

The defender tweeted saying he wanted to play some football and a Bournemouth fan told him where and when they were meeting.

Talking of North of the border and bargain buys, we have this lad, cost £400,000. He is talking about your lad McGinn.

Speaking about the midfielder, Fraser told Sky Sports: “I have known him since I was about 12 years old. He used to play for St Mirren and I was at Aberdeen, we always used to play each other.

“He’s my roomie at Scotland – when he doesn’t ditch me for other players coming in.

“He snores, is never off his phone about one o’clock in the morning before a game! No, he’s a top man.

“He gets my teas in at about nine o’clock on the dot and runs my baths – he knows where he stands!”

Villa team news update. Kodjia was their second leading scorer last season with 9 after Tammy Abraham with 26.

Aston Villa will be without trio James Chester, Kortney Hause and Jonathan Kodjia when they welcome Bournemouth to Villa Park this weekend.

Premier League football returns to B6 on Saturday and Villa will be looking to get some points on the board after they succumbed to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Boss Dean Smith will be planning for such a meeting with the Cherries without three first-team players, though.
