I agree with this . These players should be busting a gut to prove to Eddie that they deserve a first team start. Mentioning no names, surely Eddie has seen enough of some of them.

After a week of non stop positivity and progress, we had the chance to build some real momentum, and confidence, ahead of a home fixture we can get something from. Keep everything moving onwards.

Tonight has been about the biggest screeching halt to any kind of momentum. It's a crying shame.

Oh dear.

We really need to rethink this cup competition lark. The wholesale changes policy has been an abject failure for a number of years now and is doing everyone a disservice. Most of all the fans but even the players who, I can only assume, feel like they're playing with a bunch of strangers.

I agree. We should play as close as possible to our best team in a cup competition where we have a fair chance of actually winning something. The peripheral players should be used sparingly in the PL team to give some of our regular players the rest they will occasionally need. I think they’re good enough for that. We’ve played both Rico and Stacey in the last games, more or less out of necessity. Neither was a fixture in the team but we were able to integrate them without losing any PL matches. This seems to be the better option to me. Go for it in the cups and use the peripheral squad players sparingly in the PL as required. As you say, maybe time for Eddie to have a rethink !

We normally play a reasonably strong team, unfortunately the players seem to be strangers not a team. So I'm not surprised at the result just frustrated with it.
