Francis and Surman both gone

Any player who leaves a club owing them nothing has been good. Both fit that criteria, and Charlie too, but hope he has another season in him.:clap::clap:

The manager not fronting up and speaking to Surman in person is not acceptable. Total lack of class. Whether it was his decision or not he should still deal with him and recognise the contribution he made. Very disappointing.
You would hope, since it appears that this was not JT's decision, that he will get in touch with Surman asap once the dust of the current squad returning has settled. Obviously JT has had a LOT to deal with in the last week or so, so maybe getting in touch with previously released players was not top of his list of priorities.
At least that's what I'd like to think !

Two exemplary professionals who have made a fantastic contribution in many ways to AFCB during their time at the club both on and off the pitch.
They both deserve a massive thank you from us all for their efforts and dedication over the years. I wish them well for whatever they do in the future.

Surman suggesting he found out 2 weeks ago. Why has it taken until now to release the news? If it happened 2 weeks ago, was it even Tindalls decision? And more importantly how has Tindall not found 2 minutes to speak to him?

What a sorry state of affairs.

If that series of events is true, and we have no reason to doubt it, very poor form and not the style we expect from our club.

Does Richard Hughes have a higher profile now with regard to players and has JT evolved into a coach with the Technical Director above him? All very interesting perhaps that is the different direction.

As I said above something doesn’t add up. Tindall said all 3 would have meetings last week to discuss their future....but the decision was made 2 weeks ago....?!

If JT has not spoken to Surman after all the service and dedication he has given to AFCB then it’s an embarrassment. I’m not sure I like the road we appear to be heading down, something seems very rotten in our great club right now

Something doesn't feel right. The players clearly struggled with team spirit and motivation last year and none of this news appears to be doing anything to bring a sense of unity back. Hopefully we're wrong and he's able to sort it out.

I think surman was under rated. So often took possession in tight situations to help distribution of cook and elphick, recycling the balk to keep possession. People moaned he played the ball square a lot but he was able to spot movement off the ball to get the ball up quickly. Often it was lack of movement that meant sideways was the best outlet.

I 100 per cent agree. Also I don’t have a problem with side ways passing if it’s for a wide player to to receive and drive into space. A pass that Surman often played. The weight of pass always perfect.

What the f**k is going on? Did Tindall even know about this, or did he find out from the club website like the rest of us? He said in an interview that decisions would be made this week, but Surman says that Richard Hughes told him 2 weeks ago! This is all pointing towards Tindall being merely a head coach with the director of football (Hughes) pulling through strings

From the circumstances around Eddie leaving with the players finding out via the media, then this, something clearly isn't quite right and it worries me.
The only thing I can think of is that in our traditionally tinpot way we have been overrun by the events of relegation, Ed leaving and JT taking over all happening in such a short space of time.
To be honest, knowing us, I think that is the most probable explanation. We are as a club just not competent enough to deal with too many things happening all at once. We are handling this in our own uniquely tinpot way of not really handling it at all !
