Season tickets

Any ideas please? As a last minute.commer I think I've c***** up my account in haste. I am showing as no reserved tickets atm. They were there but I did a fatal error and backspaced as I did not tick the pay instalment button, now my tickets have gone into deep orbit by looks of it.Looks like I'll be clogging up the phone with all the other last min.coms tomorrow, alternatively I'll be doomed by fate to relinquish my 10 year held tickets to those waiting for opportunity to grab them!!

Perhaps you took it out of reserve and added it to your basket, if you log in again it might be showing as an outstanding item in the basket?
Good luck.

First, take a deep breath and chill.

Second, I think that when you start a ticket purchase it goes into a quarantine period for fifteen minutes. If you close your browser and log in again at least fifteen minutes later I think you’ll find that the reserved ticket has reappeared.

Shielding issues - you can't defer unless you have a government letter or a letter from your GP. Problem: many GP practices won't issue these letters as they're under enormous pressure with regular work. Some practices who will produce letters charge for them, as they do for insurance statements etc - and it's not cheap.

So - I'm 70+ with asthma and fall into a high-risk category. My GP won't write letters at this point. Outcome - I'm obliged to pay for this season's ST or probably lose the seat for the long term. Money is refunded if a seat's not taken up but only game by game ... the club gets the money upfront.

Ticket Office says it's "following orders" from the Championship. Hmm...

Didn’t you get a government letter?

I think if you read further back on this forum some people have been abusing it for other reasons.

Medical advice I received was might be better at this time to renew for 21-22 season.

I have spoken to two members of the TO re this situation and it seems if at this time can’t renew for this season, but if circumstances change re vaccine etc to let them know. In the meantime the seat will be sold on a match by match basis if they get to that point.

At the beginning if and when things might improve, it will be ballot only.

Everything and not just football re this virus is a big IF.

After a relatively painless (eventually) season ticket purchase, I thought I'd better go back and check it went through.

Money out of bank? Tick
Email with numbers on? Tick
Account online showing sale? Errr, no! Nothing at all. Ever.

On the plus side, still got my away points - not that they'll be much use for a while.

Good luck tomorrow to anyone still trying to get things sorted.

It's not abusing anything. If anyone is abusing things it's the club. Anyone who's 70+ or in a vulnerable group should be given the option of postponing. Who do the club think they are to dictate to people when they should potentially put their health at risk?

I'm not too happy with the ar*e about face way they have decided to ask for season ticket money. As if they are best placed to look after my cash and slowly give it back to me if they are unable to provide the product.

If you look back to page 5, Paul was replying to something I posted and it was in his reply the word ‘abusing’ was mentioned.

Fair enough Billy, not having a pop at you at all I just think the club should give people who fit into these categories the benefit of the doubt. Especially something easily verifiable like over 70 or any disabled ST holder.

No problem.

It’s a difficult time for people and making a decision to put health risks before missing this coming season.

If they need proof, no problem.

All those on the government at risk list should have received government letter/s.

So far I have spoken to two people from the TO who are working from home and I found them polite and helpful.

I have several health problems(looking at me,not many would think so),couple pretty severe,so was surprised not to receive a shielding advice letter (I often fall through the net ).

However I've renewed my sts and intend to use the the ballot scheme by not applying for tickets until I'm well enough, and receiving my refunds.

Are you not put into the ballot automatically?

My understanding is you have to apply. This is to stop people that may be unable to attend for whatever reason getting a ticket over somebody that could go on the day

This is what I wanted to know, hopefully you're right. I'm booked on a holiday in October, it's only a couple of hours away so I'll come back for the game if I get allocated a ticket but it seems pretty pointless going to the trouble if I'm then not allocated one the following week.

Medical advice I received was might be better at this time to renew for 21-22 season.

Large numbers of people with mild-to-severe symptoms did not get letters about shielding but were warned that if they were 70+ they should be taking all measures to reduce infection. I fall into that category.

I was ready to produce my passport to show proof of age - and my medication -hoping to defer the ST until the 2021-22 season. I've been attending DC since 1961 and have had an ST for many years.

But the TO (perfectly polite etc) says either a government letter or GP letter is essential for deferral. And my GP is not interested in providing letters that cover patients for leisure activities - can't blame them, the practice is overwhelmed with a huge backlog of patients who couldn't attend during the COVID crisis.

So I've paid up for the coming season in case I lose the ST for good. It seems certain the virus will be back big-time, probably coinciding with flu - and us oldies will be confined at home for months. Meanwhile the club has my money, which dribbles back game-by-game into my account.

It's a lot of money to lay out without seeing a game!!

Must say I was very surprised when I read on here that they expected around 4,000 fans back in September.

Especially with the rise in cases again in this country and across Europe and the World.

Was it Germany where they now don’t expect football crowds back before late October?

When I spoke last to a chap at the TO, he said he had got my details for 21-22 and someone will be in contact re a deposit.

I mentioned that I am owed for the five games still that I had originally had agreed to put forward for this season. The deposit will be taken from that.

After finding out on this thread that you needed medical proof, I brought the subject up with the chap from the TO and he clarified it.

So today I will email a copy of the government letter to the TO and await a call re deposit for my ST for the following season.

Good luck for the future and let’s hope they find a vaccine sooner, rather than later and our lives can go back to some kind of normality and we all can enjoy and watch the club we have supported all these years again.

That answers a question my daughter had Billy as she awaits her conversation with TO, they take the 10% deposit from the carried over balance of around £145
I would then assume, the remaining £90 (ish) is further held over to discount 21/22 if no games are attended at all this season
What a f****ing mess

Although you are in a difficult personal situation Billy, for which we all wish you well, you have helped clarify this situation for everybody.

Not sure what happens to the rest of the money Gary, that was something I was going to discuss when I hear from them.

The bloke I last spoke to re deferring, said someone would be in touch on Monday re deposit, I asked if that could be put back to Tuesday as I had a hospital appointment Monday. So he said probably be Tuesday, but I didn’t get a call, so they probably are dealing with the renewals for this season first.

When I originally spoke to another chap at the TO to tell him my circumstances and I was waiting to speak to my consultant first before I made a decision (hence two calls to TO), he said once I decided to defer until 21-22, I would be contacted in a week or two re deposit.

Thanks Ron.

I really wanted to renew this season as I love watching my club.

But not only on medical advice, my family were not happy either with me renewing and going this season, unless circumstances change.
