Tickets for next season

Personally, I have sympathies for everyone who wants to go. But I really can’t see how this idea could be deemed as fair without it being advertised before hand...

As I say, all sorts of people have all sorts of whinges. But the evidence of buying £10 passes throughout the season should demonstrate loyalty and be given credit for.

I’ve watched us over 20 times on tv on Sky and BT this season, through legitimate subscriptions.

Some other games I’ve listened to solent and watched the goals go in live on sky sports news.

With that amount of coverage available to me through means that I already pay for via subscriptions and the tv license I couldn’t justify paying for AFCB tv on top.

I take your point about notifying in advance.

You're not forking out to attend matches live this season

The club took our money in July and drip fed it back to us. So yes we forked out £1000+ and only last month got the remainder of that money back.

We all have different opinions........but cant agree that someone who pays to sit in his/her armchair to watch Boscombe against someone who buys tickets and travels to games should have the same priority

You are an AFCB tv JCL .:grinning:

Club did the right thing in the first prem season in trying to give existing fans priority. Sure some people missed out but whatever way you use there are some fans who miss out.

Over the 5 prem seasons there have been opportunities to get that vital one point if people didn’t have one - some friendlies, cup games and even a few league games. I know people who went online on the dot at 11am on a Friday to snap up resales and were very successful in building up a lot of points.

The ground is too small for a top flight side. That’s the issue not the claimed “exclusivity” for regular attending fans.
Although I went to the occasional games during our rise from L2 through to the Championship. I couldn't go to every game due to work commitments (and also we lived further away).
My friends purchased ST's, I think, in the 1st year of the Championship.
Once we relocated and I was more able to go to matches I found it difficult to get a ticket because I had no points. (also we were in the PL by then).
I could always go to a cup game, but cup points don't help you to see league matches. Fortunately I could go to the occasional league game by borrowing tickets from friends / relatives who couldn't go.
As you say, there was one pre-season friendly that I know about that counted as 1 point. I missed out on that. Finally I was able to get that first point for a match in August by calling the Ticket Office at just the right time at 9.00am on a pre-match Friday, there was a reduced demand for tickets due to people being away on holidays.

Yes, getting tickets at precisely 11.00am on a Friday. Happy days.
I have the maximum number of points now. I hope we can go back to matches again soon. If we do fall down the leagues then the small stadium will be no problem .

You think that someone who sat at home watching games should get priority over someone who went to games?
Not exclusively, no, but it was all that was available. What I’m saying is there should be some recognition of loyalty from this season. I’m darned sure a lot more people would have been able to buy tickets and thereby gain points in a second division campaign. There is no way the ground would have been full against the likes of QPR, Wycombe, Preston etc. especially given some of the dross that was being served up. Loads of last years newcomers would have dropped off when not watching the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea etc. yet are rewarded by keeping their points.

That's not what's happening. SOME fans qualified 3 or 4 years ago for exclusive access to home games. Other long-standing supporters (with varying quality sob stories) missed the qualification. Both would have been "someone who buys tickets and travels to games", but the lucky few got all of that right, and continued amassing points. Others would have loved to get points but didn't have that right. And eventually what points they did have were taken away (and that wasn't advertised in advance).

The latter people include many who spend just as much money going to away games. But that doesn't qualify.

There is a chance to broaden the definition of loyal supporter to reflect reality. One way to redress the balance is by taking the £10 pass spending into account

At the beginning of the season, I took the risk of buying the whole season on AFCB TV.

Apart from the glitches of the first two matches, it has been amazing value and no worry about whether I would get a ticket.

Not only that, the seat is comfy, the beer excellent and cheap, no queue for the loo at half time and I get back in time for tea.

However, I would readily forego, if it meant that I could attend matches once again.

Ive had my ST since when we were sh1t and only a couple of thousand were interested in watching them. Shazam!! We hit the big time and suddenly it becomes unfair. Tough sh1t imo

Obviously there will be some diehards who deserve a bit of special treatment...I'm not too bothered about that or myself... iv'e been virtually totally out of it for 6 years now and live away.. but I'm sure there are many loyal locals who just can't get a look in with this Tinpot situation.

I think its unfair that all those who couldn't give a flying f*ck when we were in League 2, League 1 and even the Championship want to start inventing rules to make it easier to get into the better matches.

This. I'd have been at the games if it had been possible and wouldn't have chosen a TV option, so it's irrelevant as a criteria for allocating tickets any more than watching games on TV pre-covid is.

I believe Noniron pointed out that to watch a game in our first season in the top division you only needed 6 points from our previous championship season.
In my view, if you didn’t have that amount you really can’t complain.

I think there are people who had no points when we got promoted to the PL but have managed to get enough to attend plenty of games in that time. EverHopeful?

Of course Brian, no argument but I wonder how many of the loyal 10,000 sitting on the points stuck with the team during November and December when they were churning out shite.

Doesn’t seem right to me that those who paid to watch the games this season get no recognition for it yet a plastic who only went to PL games can walk straight back in next year.

There shouldn’t be many plastics who went to just PL games as they rarely got down to zero points
