Scott Parker

Yes at agent level or similar. Somtimes clubs like to do talks via intermediaries and in a less formal manner. To establish whether its vaguely do-able, talk ballpark terms and gauge the liklihood of completing a deal, before making an official approach. That goes for players or managers. Saves getting knocked back, and means clubs can go on the record saying "no we never approached X" even when they sort of did.

Where the line is crossed into 'tapping up is increasingly unclear! In this case its in both club's interest to test the water before going formal. Fulham may be interested in doing a deal, but they won't want to talk officially about Parker leaving unless they're certain he's off.

Currently if it breaks down both clubs can state no talks were held, even if they kinda were.

So you reckon Fulham spoken to Parker’s agent re level compensation from
Afcb rather than directly with afcb?

Anyone who has an account, what is the answer re AFCB? Or any of the clubs for that matter.

The question the fans have been asking.

Last season may already feel like a distant memory, but five of the Premier League and Football League’s 92 clubs still don’t know who will be sat in their dugout when the 2021-22 season begins in August.

Everton could be forgiven for being caught by surprise by Carlo Ancelotti’s exit, but Bournemouth have known for months that they would have a decision to make, West Bromwich Albion must have had at least an inkling and Tottenham have now gone more than 50 days since sacking Jose Mourinho. Most of the country seemed to be aware Roy Hodgson would be leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season.

Basically that either puts doubt on the media speculation re Parker as the only one, unless that has now fallen beside the wayside and new candidates are being interviewed.

Perhaps, when it became known, the thought of having to pay millions just to get Parker to the door of DC made that trail go somewhat cooler.

Busy work morning so eagerly checking out this forum for any news….brexit and solar eclipse as the top two trending posts was a sad sight!!

the level of bedwettery on this site has reached such a level we'll need Noah's Ark to survive

we rushed into the tindall appointment, apparently, now we're trying to look across a number of available candidates and conduct the fabled "proper interview process" which takes a bit of time and still people are moaning

there are a number of managerless clubs so it's going to take ages, get over it

everyone hates parker and woodgate, we get it

There was me thinking we’ve already had 21 days, that we might want to plan for next season, have the players back for pre season in the next 3 weeks and start planning a team.

silly me

Can anyone recall when the appointment of a Bournemouth manager wasn't:

a) crikey, we don't have a manager! Let's see who is hanging around the ground today.

b) we got no money, who is available cheap/free?

c) now, which former players have a coaching badge?

d) please, please, somebody, anybody take the job!

So, if it takes time to get the right man, then so be it. We just have to trust that the board actually do get the right man.

That said, the new guy needs time to get pre-season training organised. So, what is a reasonable time for an appointment? I think we should be concerned if it takes longer than two weeks.
