Alex Ferguson always gave the same advice to aspiring managers. 'Always look at the stadium'. I suppose he meant that as a metaphor against which to measure your personal progress with a ' bigger' stadium meaning a 'bigger' job. . He seemed to know a bit about this football thingie.Because players and managers don't give a toss how many seats the ground holds. Why would they?
Come on, you honestly don't think a player is concerned about the size of a club's fanbase, or if they play in a prestigious stadium ?Because players and managers don't give a toss how many seats the ground holds. Why would they?
I think you know the answer. But if he were he wouldn't meet your exacting standards. Is Eddie in the picture?
...but more chance that you will hear it!Smaller crowd, less chance the supporters can call you a c#nt

You said "he (Parker) wasn't good enough to keep Fulham in the PL". I said neither was Eddie.sorry - what standards are those? I would welcome Eddie back in a heart beat - but it's not going to happen so no point wishing. I just want to know if anyone else is in the running apart from Parker

Yes you should have said that Parker couldn't keep Fulham in the PL for more than one miserable season where they won just 5 games and managed to score a pathetic total of 27 goals..........i think Rob would've been fine with that.I don't really want to be in the PL - but Eddie managed the PL for longer than one season - until the players egos took over and he could no longer manage them.
Oh, is that right, TF?Yes you should have said that Parker couldn't keep Fulham in the PL for more than one miserable season where they won just 5 games and managed to score a pathetic total of 27 goals..........i think Rob would've been fine with that.
Go on, cheer up. Its not the end of the world yet!Yes you should have said that Parker couldn't keep Fulham in the PL for more than one miserable season where they won just 5 games and managed to score a pathetic total of 27 goals..........i think Rob would've been fine with that.
How far down the long list of priorities is that likely to be? Wages, transfer budget, board interference, working conditions, location, etc. etc. I'd be surprised if stadium size has ever swung a manager's decision.
Thank Christ for Bruce Willis (again).I didn't like the film Armageddon but it isn't the end of the world.
It's most clubs main source of income and therefore your potential budget. It determines whether a promotion provides resources to compete at the next level or leaves you wheeling dealing or coaching to just survive.
Fans if perhaps not owners will react better to the manager who succeeds with a large budget than the manager who scrapes by on a small one.
Hi all, just had an update, it’s still a stalemate between Parker and Fulham. Fulham woll not pay him any severance pay (to right too) but Parker won’t leave unless he gets it. It’s a case of who blinks first but could go on for a while yet
