… like on certain roads on a match day perhaps?I wonder if Scott Parker will ask Fletch to put the cones out in a different way.

Good post, sums up my thoughts exactly. We could be in for exciting times again. On to Scott Parker.
I know we can’t ever read too much into an introduction video. But this morning I’m excited.
What this squad lacked from November 2019, was professional pride, player effort. An attempt to match their talent with hard work.
Parker clearly wants his sides to work hard, he wants effort. Something fans always want to see.
I do think then, he wants his players to be progressive, he mentions playing on the front foot, hopefully this means a nice passing game in possession.
Maybe it won’t be swashbuckling over lapping full backs, inverted wingers, box to box central midfielders and two strikers throwing everything forward and leaving us exposed defensively like many of us enjoyed. Equally many always complained about us defensively, so perhaps we can expect a more measured but equally easy on the eye footballing team.
Either way. Since Howe we’ve clearly lacked a vision and an identity and I think this move could be the first step to restoring that.
always in the running/betting for a Job NEVER appointedNot sure I understand what you mean by that. Could you please explain?
I have a mental image of Fletch sneaking around the club hunched over, diving behind one piece of furniture and then the next, thinking to himself "If they don't see me they can't fire me !!!"Looks like Fletch has managed to survive the cull for the time being. Maybe it's because nobody actually knows what he does!
Let's be clear, we didn't learn a huge amount about Woodgate's ability to manage in the few months he was here other than we know he wasn't hopeless- he was capable of stringing together wins with a squad that some people kept saying was the best in the division while others were saying had been decimated by those we lost following relegation. He wasn't even given the luxury of a single transfer window.
The results at the end of the season will have been from a number of factors so it's impossible to assess his ability to put together a promotion winning side or to compare him with someone like Eddie. I still feel the same way about JT as well.
But that's the nature of this crazy game. We've got no choice other than to move on, and hope the next guy is given a fair crack at the whip. Are the board patient enough to understand that he will need time to implement his ideas though? Or will this become another "must get promoted" season where we see a knee jerk reaction come January if we're not in a promotion spot?
Anyway welcome to the madhouse Scott.
Yeah, I can’t argue with that.
It’s going to be one thing to see if the board give him enough time to produce something that resembles a promotion winning side, but the flip side of that is the supporters … will they (we all) give him enough time to settle in …….
Come Christmas, if we’re down in 7th or 8th or God help us, even lower, then this forum is going to be awash with (firstly) posts decrying the board and their decisions, and then the head coach, his tactics and team choices.

What do you know re the staff who were also at Spurs?
And that's just to protect yourself from the Met PoliceI was born within a goal kick away from the old White Hart Lane and used to kick a football around in the streets up there. These days to do something like that you will have to be wearing a stab-proof vest, full combat gear and have an AK47 handy at a moment’s notice.

I haven’t heard anything coming out from Spurs since the pandemic started Billy.
Everywhere is different these days, much different to the way we all used to know.

My brother took me to WHL to see Spurs v Stoke (?) Gilzean and Greaves up front .... Crap game! It was a treat as I was joining the Army. Also, one of my fave footy films is Those Glory Glory Days, cracking film. However, Gregory's Girl does pip it.I haven’t heard anything coming out from Spurs since the pandemic started Billy.

Oh I thought you meant that they dropped like a stone after he left.always in the running/betting for a Job NEVER appointed
I don't believe it was ALL down to Eddies skills...obviously some of it...but it was a good mix of players..with several 'leaders' and 'characters' among them.. Elphick...Arter...Kermorgant...Francis...Pugh..Pitman, Daniels and Francis for examples...all gelling together in a potent and very positive force.
Parker doesnt give me the impression from the way of his talking, that this bunch of players will rally around him..he seems a bit sort of shy....but I could be reading him wrong! He looks away from the interviewer most of the time. at the floor - not a good sign. We probably need an arrogant b@stard like Clough to get this club /team moving.
There needs to be a massive cull of players for a start...and reliable types to replace them....this will take a couple of seasons for Parker to get above mid table as I see it.
Yeah, I can’t argue with that.

Rubbish....diddy Forest..2 Euro Cups!!!Boomer thinking.
Managing like Clough today is about as sensible as cavalry in WWII.
He looks and sounds absolutely miserable tbf.
Probably because he’s thinking about what to do with Fletch! He looks and sounds absolutely miserable tbf.
Football365 said:In Jonathan Woodgate, Bournemouth had a decent manager with obvious limitations. In Parker, they have waited over a month to land a man whose only upgrade is in the fashion department, but dapper looks do not make up for the lack of improvement Parker is likely to bring to Dean Court.
