Shows the strength of English football when a Championship player with ( apparent ) League 1 abilities can go to a top flight Spanish club playing in the Europa League : )
 
I feel like we missed an opportunity to discover our very own Gareth Bale. I'm sure if a coach has the balls to build a team around him they will uncover a future Ballon D'or winner. Oh well I guess Parker just doesn't have quite enough experience under his belt just yet to make a decision like that.

Adios Diego, your goal against Barnsley in the 0-4 hammering will live long in the memory of all AFC Bournemouth fans.

That sounds very sincere and in keeping with what we’ve heard about the man. Gutted that we never found a way to integrate him into the side, he was always on the fringes and it must have been hard for him to develop the necessary partnerships to shine whenever he had a bit of a run in the team. I’m convinced that we never got the best out of him and I never felt that he was the problem. Just one of those signings that never really worked out for either party but I’m delighted that he’ll remember his time here fondly.

Thanks Diego, go out there and fulfil your potential and enjoy your football.
 
If accurate we've almost let him go to get him off the wage bill, and make room for Davis presumably. I wonder why the valuations in the press were so far apart from reality though?

Rico wasn’t anywhere near one of the top earners from what I saw. But yes Davis is probably a lot cheaper even if we are covering his entire wage
 
...so to all those slating him on here...please don't be moaning about what we got for him!

We got sod all for Brad Smith and Jordan Ibe after all...would prefer Diego over both those !

It just makes it clear how much we allowed ourselves to get carried away with all of that PL money though, doesn't it ? Buy a player for 10 odd million quid without batting an eyelid and then a few years later, this "asset" is let go for a few hundred thousand. A pound is still worth a pound, however many pounds you have lying around. Hopefully a few people at the club have realised that now and we'll be more careful to ensure that we get proper value for our money in the future ( should we ever be in that position again of course ! ). I guess once you are in the PL, these are the prices you have to pay to get the player, still bloody annoying though !
