Scott Parker

I upset the same people every time....but none of you will except that droning on about ' best squad' didnt cut any ice in terms of what actually happened on the pitch.
So no..sorry but why should I give it a rest. :shake:
I "accept" that our squad and management underperformed and therefore didn't achieve what some of us expected before the season started.

Can't recall anyone except you "droning on about best squad". I explained to you why, before a ball was kicked, there was a good argument to say that our squad was the strongest in the league, based on the number of appearances at top league and international level.

Are we not allowed to look at our squad at the start of the season, compare it to the others we see and try and assess where we stand in comparison? Nothing we say then cuts any ice about what happens on the pitch, so are we not permitted to say it?

You should give it a rest because you're the only one still bringing this up and making things up about what people have said.

You seem like someone who worked for a living so must understand that having the best tools doesn't always produce the best work and producing the best work doesn't mean you had the best tools.

Replace tools with players and work with league position.

It's as simple as that.

Add in an opposition and some luck...

Ha! but it wasn't a good argument as it turned out and you are still saying it...
..and pre- last season it WAS the talk of the Forum !
And you must admit..I do provide some filler material to keep the Forum chugging along week to week.. season to season.

But..OK....I'll go with you now . your wishes... and wind it in on that subject.

I don't get why the squad was so highly rated by 80% of the Forum...we were relegated.... with a p*ss poor defence....and then couldn't compete with Norwich....who were a disaster below us in the relegation season. Or with Watford.
If the rating was to do with how much they cost...well that's bloody ridiculous...we were ripped off with several of them. Naivety of the highest order!
They were not that good...
L.Cook and Brooks, its odds on that they peaked as youngsters...others are just overrated.
Only Stacey was worth the hype..and Pearson, the most recently signed, looks good.

The most promising one, Danjuma is probably on his way...btw he might be stifled somewhat in the PL...and produce only a handful of goals.
You're still
here then? :ROFLMAO:

Yep....I think i'll give it another season to start with TiK....and when this Final on Sunday is out of the way... im gonna work on a slightly more restrained approach to my posts....albeit with a few twists!
I can't wait...sorry I mean You can't wait !

Eddie's problem was that he loved injuries too much. That's why he ignored Neil's mate who advised them that his training regime was causing the injuries and needed to be changed.
Thats exactly what happened. My mate who's an Olympic expert in things that definitely happened told me.
Sounds like an interesting mate… he should meet my wife, although by your description they are already talking.

Experts never agree. Hence why one group of scientists write against another lot on Covid and one group of economists talk about Brexit boom and another about Brexit doom.

Hence why, hard though it seems to be for you to get your head around, one physio working with our players can think players are over trained when they have access to the schedules and another not.

What you have to do with Brexit, Covid and everything is wait for the results and then we will know who we think is right. Our terrible injury record led me to believe the chap I knew. Had we had a mainly fit squad I would have believed the people the club brought in. Three years of it as well we had so not a fluke.

100%. Last season we would’ve just had “we were the better team all over em 2 points lost” and similar shite.

Honestly pointed out that a draw was the right result and correctly identified all the things that we as fans would’ve been disappointed with. Now we just need to stop them happening consistently.

It’s probably not fair to judge Parker until he’s had the entire squad to manage, but I’ve already seen enough to know he’s a massive step up. There’s a clear plan and identity to how we’re looking to play. It’s not always perfectly executed as we saw today in the second half but I feel like we have an identity that everyone, including the younger players, fit into.

Can't agree. I don't want the manager to give the same thoughts as any other spectator, talking about what was going on, on the the pitch, like some pundit.

I would much prefer him to recognise that he and the players, the team, had a fantastic 30 minutes, when they should behave made it 3 nil, and then admit whatever he said at half time didn't work, and the changes he didn't make to ensure we closed it out didn't work.

He doesn't need to take blame and this isn't me wanting to castigate him, but I want to know he is reflecting on his own performance so he can learn from it much as he will expect from the players.

He can basically say what the hell he likes..he is the one being asked quezzies by the interviewer...you don't script it to reflect any other persons viewpoint....
As long as he doesnt veer into Eddie type polite lip service to the media......to impress the FA....my God that was searingly boring..
:throw:

I think Scott will Tweak and/or T
inker quite a bit as the season pans out....how good he is at Tweak..for me that's the key...too much Tinker might not be so special if he goes off on that strat !
When they tinker...its usually blanket stuff and can be catastrophically fatal...whereas a little tweak here and there is maybe how to crack it.
I might be talking sh*te...I dunno....

Don’t entirely agree with that. I highly doubt he said something like “take your foot off the pedal and ease through the second half” at halftime. So if he’s going to bring up his failure to motivate the team at halftime, realistically he’d need to be honest and say that this very young team didn’t do what was required or asked of them. Which is unnecessary; we can all see that but we can also see that mistakes will happen with such a young starting lineup. So pointing it out so bluntly imho wouldn’t be the best man management.

Obviously it would be nice to see him take a bit of accountability but that’s the only thing we seem to differ on here. My main point was that I was sick and tired last season of hearing after every game that JT thought we were “amazing” and that the other team essentially “stole the points” or whatever. Even after seeing a completely lacklustre performance. I just liked that Parker had an honest appraisal of the game and reasons for why it panned out that way which I completely agreed with.

As wonderful as Eddie is, I did find his interviews bland. You never knew what he was thinking he held his cards so close to his chest.

People on Facebook last night saying Parker’s the wrong choice, he won’t get us promoted. Probably the same ones who were praising him after 2 away wins last week.

If we don't get promoted, it will be because of lack of squad depth, which Parker is not to blame for. Nobody else would be able to start better with the resources we currently have. I'd like to know what the tactical shift after half time was because either it didn't work or the players didn't/weren't able to do as they were instructed. With hindsight, he should have brought Pearson on at half time to sure things up in midfield but 20-20 vision is a marvellous thing.
