Jordan Zemura

So we get promoted to PL , and then he's off ?
IF we get promoted, and that’s a very big if, the chances of him signing do increase marginally. As it is, he has interest from multiple Premiere league sides and only has a year and a half left on his contact (including the option of a year held by the club.) The club has been trying to tie him down to a new deal for months now but he has not signed and from what I understand there is very little indication that he will (same with Anthony.) Even if we were to go up, which is far from a guarantee, the money on offer elsewhere would be far more than what he would be offered here, and the clubs in for him are far more stable top flight outfits as well. The club will be forced into cashing in on him and Anthony next summer.

That's all fair enough.....but why not say it's your opinion...rather than makes statements like they are facts ?

Ok. I readjust my statement to, “there is a very very strong possibility that Jordan Zemura will not be here beyond this season.” Out of interest, do you bro g Istabraq up on the way he makes definitive statements, or is that just reserved for me?

is going up a very big if?

if we do go up then chances of signing up are more than a marginal rise - both Anthony and JZ could quickly become lost at bigger clubs vs a more likely starting place here. At their age they want first team football

If you're now accepting the fact that the youngsters are at risk of leaving why did you jump down my throat at the suggestion that one of our central midfielders might go?

I’m not really sure what you’re getting at here. I never said that a midfielder wouldn’t ever leave, I said that it’s highly likely neither Lerma nor Kilkenny leaves in Jan when we are pushing towards the top end of the league. Lerma will almost certainly leave in the Summer if we don’t go up, with only a year left on his contract. Of course the club will view things differently in a mid season window than they will in the summer.

So you're admitting you overreacted to my speculation that they might consider offloading him in January? If someone puts a cheeky £15m bid in for the highest earner who we've got plenty of cover for it's going to make them blink.

I’d heard a while back from someone I know that Leicester were interested in Zemura; in terms of his mindset it could well be a couple of young players being very savvy as to how much they’re worth. Personally I feel as though we could meet their “demands” if we went up.

Didn’t Parker come out recently saying contract talks were there but not being pressured on either of them so as to not put them off their game (or words to that effect)?

Parker did say that. But Waz knows it’s false news.

I don't get it... All of a sudden we're about to lose the 3 players that have just broken into our team, after several years of knocking on the door... Playing great football, enjoying their football, great team bond and looking good for promotion (albeit very early to go down that road)...

Scott's seemingly bought into us so I'd hope that these lads have bought into Scott, the person that has given them their big opportunity, and at the very least, give us this season... beyond that who knows...

I'm not convinced Scott takes many prisoners and we've pretty much seen that with how the Steve Cook situation has been handled... Cook is off, or not fancied so he doesn't get near the bench... So now we think that Zemura, Anthony and poss Kilkenny are holding out on signing contracts cos they wants off, but two of them are the first names on the team sheet... When fit...

Nah, not buying it... For me, all 3 of the young lads will be hear come May... The two I have slight concerns about are if Eddie comes sniffing for Lerma and Kelly, but if he does, we'll rinse NUFC for all they have hopefully and move on...

We need to put a big price tag on these young players before the window opens. No give aways at AFCB anymore please! And tell that nice Mr Howe to keep his mitts off them!

They are on hundreds a week when their market value is thousands. Until they sign a new contract they are definitely in danger of leaving. Rest assured their representatives will be seeing what's out there. I'm sure the club are working on decent offers though.

I don't think Cook is Parker's decision. Pretty sure he was told to find a new club before Parker arrived.

If you dont think Lerma has a very high chance of going to the North East in January....

Parker actually said that if they couldn’t come to an agreement soon then talks should be suspended until the end of the season. They have been talking for months and no agreement. What do you think that indicates?
