Support the players no matter what tomorrow

Yawn…. If you can’t see that the breakdown in relationship with the fans led to a new video, fans back on the pitch at half time, a media campaign and a quicker more forward orientated style of football you are looking at it through your own lens.

The default position of a supporter base should be to support the team, even when sometimes they don’t deserve it. Occasionally though, like in all relationships a row and a reset are better than just ploughing on hoping things will get better.

Nobody is advocating any of the crap you think they are.

Absolute crap. The mindless booing led to the club to produce a video politely telling them to wind their necks in because it obviously doesn't help.

There was no more forward intent in the game generally. There was quick passing in the first half against Peterborough and more shots. The difference was that we didn't concede a sloppy/unlucky goal and took one more chance which didn't allow these booers to have their moment. Great that we now have to try and not go through any setbacks otherwise these entitled people will get back on it.

The fans on the pitch at half time was due to the freeing up of Covid restrictions . They've been wanting to bring it back for a while.

So why didn’t they do it when Covid restrictions were lifted. They weren’t lifted last Friday….

It was all part of a much needed reaching out by the club and PR campaign. They realised that both on and off the pitch the club and fans were seperating a bit and needed to get that key relationship back again. That’s good by the way, not knocking it.

Agree Neil - clear effort by the club to connect with fans. AND the tactics and style of play changed - fewer lateral passes at the back, with the midfield busier and more movement upfront. My best guess is that Parker has got the message - credit to him if so.

EFL protocols may still have been in place.

probably keep laying into him about his height, most short blokes have a real complex about that...

'you may have a lot of money, but you'll always be a short scottish c**t'

'ah, aren;t you cute little guy'.

'gosh, you're so small arent you.'

keep goading him with things like that all game.

Best way to respond to Wee Turd is to totally ignore him. No reaction at all, but sing the Ryan Christie song all afternoon.

Indeed, it’s been quite evident that things are being phased back in. Wasn’t that long ago that Botto wasn’t allowed on the pitch, then he returned, then mascots returned but only on the pitch.

Now crossbar challenge, more than likely 12th man sponsorships will return and mascots allowed back in the tunnel etc.

We had fewer shots, less possession and yet we weren't playing against a team trying to protect a lead/result. Of course it was the boo boys who made the difference.

I agree in principle, don't give him the satisfaction of knowing he's got under our skin. Take the moral high ground, etc, etc. However, in reality, I suspect it would be almost impossible to ignore him.

Or maybe Parker gave them a bollocking and the players got the message .

We weren’t also playing against the team with the worst away record in modern history and bottom of the league.

Anyway, when did you start concerning yourself with performances. Thought it was all about ‘winning’. You are meeting yourself coming back again.

Maybe

Maybe he'll be injured.

Don't you usually get upset when I deliberately misquote you?

I'm pointing out your hypocrisy Neil, I preferred Derby because we won, I thought the performances were largely similar until the last quarter when the team lost confidence and struggled to break a stubborn team down.

If we'd have conceded a sloppy/unlucky goal against Derby I'm fairly sure the outcome would have been the same, along with you and all your mates giving the players the grief you're apparently entitled to.

Let's just hope we don't face any set backs between now and the end of the season because clearly a significant minority in the crowd are ready to try and 'motivate' the team.

We had fewer shots vs Derby because against Peterborough we uncharacteristically took a number of speculative efforts from long distance. You keep banging on about the Peterborough performance but how many of those chances that we created were actually more than half chances? I’d say one for sure (Solanke early on,) maybe two at a push. This was vs the worst away side this league has ever seen, they set up the same way in virtually every away game and still got battered by everybody apart from us.

How you can think that performance was anywhere near close to being good enough for a team trying to get promoted is beyond me. And if we are at the point that even a side as turgid as Peterborough can stifle us just by platting a 5 at the back then we have big big problems. In the run in any manager with even a bit of nous will know that if he played a back 5 then they will probably get a result vs us, if even Peterborough can do it! I can’t believe that that performance was anywhere near good enough because if it was then we have very little chance of picking up points vs the likes of Blackburn Forest Huddersfield ect.

Two at a push, plus the goal we scored plus the fact that their goal was quite fortunate adds up to a performance not that different to Derby, who are also shite away from home. If Derby got that relatively lucky goal then there's every chance the game pans out the same of not worse. I'm 100% certain that you and the other people on here who apparently care so much about performances would still be slagging it off massively. Mind you I'm sure the boos ringing round the ground would have helped.

Positive as ever.
just to note, Waz will declare this post adds nothing to the (his) debate.
And just to annoy you.
Is Blackburn Forest Huddersfield one super club now ?

I thought we played really well in the first half. There were so many chances, and lots of clever play between Cantwell and Christie, in particular. It was very disappointing to concede against the run of play. Also, after Christie equalised, it's a shame we didn't create more solid chances. If anything, I think we rushed at shots sometimes, which is ironic because we're often reluctant to just shoot. It could all have been a very different story if one or two of our great chances in the first half had been on target.

I agree, I think it was positive enough until the final part of the game. Not far off the Derby performance but it's fine lines in a game that usually gets decided by the odd goal.

Yep. I was disappointed we didn't see Lowe until right at the end. I would also like to have seen Marcondes sooner.
