Summer transfers

Very underwhelming so far today. 2 Southampton rejects (stinks of Shane Long) in positions where Forest have signed Toffolo and Bowler for 2 million each.
Unless a couple of quality additions like BBD come in, then I am feeling a lot less optimistic about the season.

Agree. I think we've had a really poor window overall. Not so much the amount of spend but the timing and the lack of any kind of joined up thinking. To be desperately trying to ship out players on the same day as trying to bring in loans on the last day from our most local rivals smacks of desperation and a lack of strategy.

I certainly didn't want us to do Forest, but we look very light at CB, LB and in genuinely creative attacking options. Feels like we are only a couple of injuries or suspensions away from having to put square pegs in round holes.

Was hoping a couple of late quality additions might swing the mood a bit, but looks like we will have to make do with what we've got.

I'm surprised we didn't go for Toffolo. Bowler less bothered by as we have players for his position. Maybe he didn't want to move down South. We did put in an offer earlier in the summer I think.

We looked dangerous in the first half of the second half last night. I'd still like Emi to get a chance. Natural scorer and has a good free kick in him too. Why not give him some minutes as a number 10?

I am never normally negative. I just think signing aging players, on big wages, who can't get near a struggling Southampton team, when we are trying to get rid of James Hill and Dembele (who know our system), who play in those positions is not good for their confidence/morale.
We need quality, Shane Long had bags of premier league experience but he was another player out of favour at southampton who had seen his best days a few seasons ago.
A bit like Fredericks, is he better than Stacey or Smith, did we need him?
I hope I'm wrong, I hope we see the Redmond of 5 years ago, but would rather have gone in for Breraton Diaz or someone whose career is on the up.

The more I think about it the more the Parker situation pisses me off, not only must he have demoralised our players but he's made it difficult to sign players as mentioned, players don't want to risk coming here for relegation thanks to his comments :mad:

The Way we 'want' to play ?. according to who ?...the players ? the new manager ?...various groups of fans ?...the Forum Elitists...who ?
..surely it's down to the players collectively and elected in house by the 'leaders' and with the blessing of the manager who has been analysing the skills...so in the end ...all pulling together!
Then it's about Scoring Goals. So simple this Game !
In my reckoning...it certainly is Not the Fans or Forum who decide is it ?
