What a window!

Forest signed a lot of foreign players in the previous window and only time will tell if they were good signings.

The young lad from Lorient seemed to settle in quickly for us, let’s hope it’s the same with these other signings, because we have some tough games coming up and the battle is now on to stay in this league.

Our new owner mentioned we won’t go down, well he has put his hands in his pocket to do his best to keep us up.

Hopefully it also puts to bed the "we are only Bournemouth, who would want to come to little old us?" complaints. Like it or not, money talks in football and we are one of the top 50 richest clubs in the world.

Don't quite agree. I think we have felt the effects of this, hence not quite getting all our first choices. What has been quite reassuring is that they obviously had lots of players in their sights and moved on quickly when deals fell through for one reason or another.

Anyone claiming these are good or bad signings at this juncture are bonkers!

So many variables yet to decide either of the above. Ability to hit the ground running with pace of this league, ability to adapt to a new way of life, ability to adapt to a new language, the existing group not taking umbrage at the large pay differentials, the coaching teams ability to work a system out that suits their strengths.

Running a football team effectively is about a strategy about the whole of the above, the timings you do things and a coherent direction. Eddie built a team at Newcastle around a few studied additions and improving what he had.

Have we done the same? Time will tell. The one thing we do know is we all hope so and it is nice to be able to compete in the transfer market (Thankyou Bill!). The people that said ‘who are these mystery players that will join us’ have gone quiet now. Hopefully they are good, it’s been done wisely, and O’Neil was only being hampered by not enough quality players as opposed to his own deficiencies.
If this squad isn’t good enough then he’ll be on his way. Fair enough.

This is my point...... we're all excited by what we don't know.........I said the three that I've heard of wouldn't excite me.
Who are the three you've heard of? And what is it about them that doesn't excite you? Genuine question, as I've said I don't know anything about them, so I've got no axe to grind..

Another angle : The fact that eventually we have
signed quite a large number of players in the window... (what a weird thing..why not sign any time of the season as it used to be?)
Does this influx of players mean Parker was right with his post - Anfield rant.....which led to poor old Gary being chucked into the deep end after Scotty lad...our Championship maestro and vastly experienced PL player was unceremoniously put on his bike.
It didn't take long for the players to stop Gary's bounce...and rescue the reality of it all.
Anyway those players now face a new reality of maybe not being picked to start games ...
...and therefore have an even easier time seeing out their 'contract'....with no unecessary exertion of mind or body!
.....:cuppa:

Semenyo has potential.....that's all though.....bit of a stretch to think he's going to be a difference maker at this level.

Randolph..... Fcking hell.

Bright osyi Samuels is just a solid championship player nothing else.

Don't believe we are after bright guy, Randolph is likely 3rd choice keeper

And another thing.. we've got fans on here screaming for Parkers replacement to be jettisoned and salivating over Bielsa.....while Forest currently 4 points ahead of us and all their fans still backing a manager who finished behind Parker.and who didn't figure as a player in the PL....and was a player for Bangor City in the Welsh League !
A far cry from Elitism don't you think ?

Is anyone upset about any of the new signings?
It's hard to be upset or excited about players we know nothing about............if I said we had bid 20m for a French player called Canard Donald the usual suspects on here would be frothing at the mouth.

I'm sorry, I thought I'd give the guy a chance.

But he has been nothing but clueless.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

He steadied the ship after the poor players felt unwanted.

But since the World Cup, given weeks of preparation and evaluation he has delivered 1 point, at home to another clusterfck of a team.

I'm sorry, but giving him a chance to improve isn't quite the same as the opportunity to take us down.
I think that is a very fair assessment. You're entitled to change your opinion based on the passing of time. I also thought GON was a good bet when the decision was initially made, but I've seen nothing since to suggest he's got the answers. Shame, but there we are.

You are so bitter. You moaned throughout the championship, you now moan every match day in the premier league.

Just because this doesn’t fit your narrative of you wanting relegation to see ‘entertaining football’ again doesn’t mean others can’t get excited.
