Best window we have had in a coon's age.Looking forward to seeing all these guys out there giving it their all for the Cherries.
Err... typo?
Best window we have had in a coon's age.Looking forward to seeing all these guys out there giving it their all for the Cherries.
I think you should re-phrase that.Best window we have had in a coon's age.Looking forward to seeing all these guys out there giving it their all for the Cherries.
It’s a common idiom in America referring to raccoons. It’s a load of old bollox though as raccoons only live for two or three years.I think you should re-phrase that.
...and it's also slang for something else as you well know.Coon's age means a very long time. It is an Americanism that has fallen out of favor and is considered offensive by many people. Coon is slang for raccoon, coined in the mid-1700s. The term coon's age was first used in the early 1800s and in fact, owes its origin to the folk belief that raccoons are long-lived.
....but we're not in America, Stan. It’s a common idiom in America referring to raccoons. It’s a load of old bollox though as raccoons only live for two or three years.
That idiom refers to a raccoon. Calm down.I think you should re-phrase that.
Are you gonna pitch a fit if someone uses the word "niggardly"?...and it's also slang for something else as you well know.
I suppose in some way we got excited about Callum HartI’m failing to see how any new signings cannot fail to excite you unknown or not. Perhaps it’s as you never get to a game in person and the excitement doesn’t reach your tv.
Perfectly calm, thank you. We don't have racoons, while the term here means something else which is not seen as acceptable over here. That idiom refers to a raccoon. Calm down.
as written....and it's also slang for something else as you well know.
But, to be fair to Stan, he's not even living in reality.....but we're not in America, Stan.
as written.

So complain to DJ if you are affended.Perfectly calm, thank you. We don't have racoons, while the term here means something else which is not seen as acceptable over here.
I'm not affended (or offended) just giving a steer to those not accustomed to the vagaries of our language, nothing more.So complain to DJ if you are affended.
Came from American Cherry, so I suspect "american rules" should be applied. I'm OK with it from my side of the border, although I will admit that it might occasionally raise an eyebrow.I'm not affended (or offended) just giving a steer to those not accustomed to the vagaries of our language, nothing more.
Erm, its a slang term a lot of people still use here in North Carolina, nothing to do with race and apologize if people took it that way. Just means a long period of time.I think you should re-phrase that.
Yes, I realise that. It's just not a word that we use for reasons that are obvious. No apologies necessary as you weren't to know. As I said above, just giving a steer as otherwise posts on here can get deleted which is a shame because then the underpinning point that's made gets lost.Erm, its a slang term a lot of people still use here in North Carolina, nothing to do with race and apologize if people took it that way.
