Post-match thoughts v Spurs

Having seen the highlights, can anyone explain why Spurs’ second goal was allowed to stand? Kane was standing right in front of Neto as it went in.

It’s hard to think of anything other than incompetence without turning to big club bias.

It’s all the niggly things as well that can have big influence, like booking Christie for diving when he has been pushed over. Is it a penalty? No, but that doesn’t mean it’s a dive.

Kane fouls Stephens with a nudge, nothing given, seconds later Stephens fouls Kane… free kick to the attacking team in a dangerous position and a booking for Stephens.

kane could have had two fast yellows but neither were given.

Bloody delighted. Fair play to GON and the lads. After the Arsenal loss we’ve taken 12 points from 6 games and really turned it around. Cant believe we won after spurs getting back to 2-2 as well. One more win could do it. Big relief that we should stay up because think we have some pretty exciting players and they’re starting to look a real team.
Yes I agree. Thought it was a stunning result today, you’d have thought man for man Spurs would have better players than us, but we had a cohesion and resilience today that was a joy to see. It didn’t stop me sitting down when they scored their equaliser and thinking “Oh no- this is going to be Arsenal all over again “ (hands up who didn’t think that even for a second!). But we did it- we only gone and bloody did it! Onwards to next Sunday- via a pleasant trip to the Vitality to watch our ladies tomorrow.

Amazing day amazing result, up there with the home Liverpool 4-3.
Believe we are staying up now. Neto was superb, what a signing, Dango done good, Dom was great, Smith didn't get booked.

Think the Lerma Rothwell midfield partnership is pretty key as well. Rothwell can really pick a pass, can do a bit of dirty work but is primarily focussed on moving the ball forward and creating.
Leaves Jeff to focus on his strengths of breaking up play, sticking the boot in and generally being a massive nuisance to the opposition and everywhere. When he’s alongside a player like Rothwell it takes the pressure off him having to try and be a major creative outlet in the midfield, which he can do a bit, but isn’t really his game.
Don’t think it’s a coincidence that when they’ve started together recently, our results have really picked up.

They seem to compliment each other were and quietly get on with the job. Both give the odd infuriating pointless foul but you can’t have everything

On the train home - voice hasn’t recovered. I’m a little drunk but still absolutely buzzing. We were a little sleepy a couple of times and punished but over the course of 90 mins couldn’t fault anyone. Great voice from the Muff fans too.

Awesome game… anyone have Mark Pugh v West Ham flashbacks… identical goal in the sun but this one a little later and a little more important…

It would have been a travesty had we not got anything from that everyone worked their socks off and stuck to the plan…

One of those were you there moments for the future.

Nobody had a poor game but thought Kelly was superb, so was Vina in his brief stint, Solanke was so pivotal and Rothwell had his best game for us.

Brilliant and allows the whole place to breathe a bit. Creds for the stadium as well it was excellent.

Yep - When Ouatarra cut the ball back on to his right foot, I thought I had been transported back in time to West Ham and Pugh. As you say, identical goals.

Taken to its logical conclusion, you could employ someone with the physique of Lee Tomlin to stand in front of the opposition keeper throughout the 90 minutes.
Yes I can explain it, the officials are incompetent and bottled making the correct decision due in favour of ruling on the side of the ‘big’ side at home. The decision to book Ryan Christie for diving after being shoved over in the box was equally as incompetent. The officials quite literally favoured Tottenham in virtually every decision today, it was beyond a joke.

Harry Kane is the most protected and influential player with refs in world football at the mo. We got off likely, Brighton were completely shafted.

Absolutely agree with this. Watching it back on Sky and then MOTD tonight just made it worse.

Yes, if any of our players had kicked out at him like he kicked out at Mepham then it would have been a VAR check and a red card. The obvious bias is just another factor that makes this league so unbearable at times, and I’m saying that after a win! Fed up of it to be honest!

I just get fed off people talking doom and gloom all week long, stating this player and that are not good enough and then revelling in our losses but then celebrate when we win and pretend they hadnt been talking *** all week. I get it, its to protect yourself so you "win" on this board regardless of the result but its tedious.
Woah there cowboy ! Dom had a good game and I'm pointing that out. It doesn't mean I'm his number one fan. Not by a long chalk. Today was one of those games where things clicked, the players clicked, the opposition were clueless, changes to the starting 11 that worked and by the love of the football Gods Solanke didn't stumble around like p1ssed up elephant. I haven't been doom and gloom all week. In fact I don't believe I've made a single post predicting what would happen yesterday or anything derogatory about players except Solanke . So not trying to win anyone over. Certainly not sitting on the fence and pleased that Solanke finally made a useful contribution to helping my team, note the word team, win.

You think that you need to score 10-15 goals and get 8 assists to be a PL quality striker. I think here in lies the problem, your standards are ridiculous. There are probably only about 5-10 PL quality strikers if that is your criteria FFS
Not ridiculous at all. 5 goals isn't enough. Oh , sorry.....FFS.....stomp off.....change name.....come back.....still act like a cnut
