Dominic Solanke

If we get an offer around the 40-50m mark I think we’d be silly not to take it, as long as we have a replacement lined up of course. Part of growing as a club is knowing when to cash in on your players and reinvest in replacements for less. I like Solanke but I’m not sure he will ever be prolific at this level and I’m not sure he is really what we need in this AI team.
Sometimes you need to move players on, look what happened with wee turd and king, dont want him rolling down him contract and walking away for free

That range would start feeling acceptable, but the replacement is the major hang-up for me. Unless we're bringing someone in that can hit the ground running, our alternatives are (A) Moore - in poor finishing form and can't offer as much as Solanke outside of goalscoring, (B) Semenyo - raw and exciting, but even with one well taken shot last week most of his opportunities have been scuffed, so I'm not sold on him having the finishing to fill in, (C) Kluivert - heard he may be used as a striker, but haven't seen enough to hold any opinion aside from hesitancy at his lack of experience in the position. Looks like an issue without bringing in a proper replacement.

Hopefully if West Ham get this player, it will finally put the Solanke story to bed.

West Ham have opened talks with Sevilla over the signing of striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

No formal bid yet.

The Morocco international has entered the final 2 years of his contract.

There’s a massive Lerma size hole to me. Confident Tyler Adam’s will fill it but watching Rothwell try to play there against decent opposition and the very obvious gaps is what I’m talking about. No problem with him further forward.
True. It’s more a hole because we don’t have another fit defensive midfielder at the moment. Although I remember games Vs the top sides last season where there were gaps all over the place with Lerma playing too.

We would have to recruit a replacement, that is not in question. We arguably still need to recruit another forward now even with Solanke still here!

West Ham have a habit of unsettling players. How many have they publicly gone in for this season without signing? Off the top of my head there is Maguire, Mctominey and they were very public with JWP in a long drawn out deal that eventually got over the line.

Or are they just trying to buy cheap

When we start seeing the solution of replacing Solanke as a 'business model' as such, as suggested on this thread.....we are moving further away from the concept of Football as a Game and Entertainment....
The exchange of Monies for a sporting operatives, Footballers has spirralled out of control and it's quite valid for it to be ridiculed by members of the public who compare the value added or not and suitably take the p*ss !

Manchester United and Chelsea of late, are cases in point where huge sums of Money have bore little fruit.
Coming further down the pyramid...Watford, Derby and Leeds ain't exactly frugal are they ?
Or them Hamptons across the forest !

Its crazy laughable that we would owe bloody Liverpool a chunk of what we would get for Solanke after all this time !

Its a Joke when it comes to Money and Football...Defo....or is Defoe a better word ?

If yon Solanke is still on the radar of West Ham.. I think if I was him i'd go...I mean some of the sh*t posted on here lately ...what is the attraction to stay if that crap is representative of the support...of a player who has scored some pivotal goals in two leagues.. in promotion and relegation campaigns...not mid - table cruising.

On the player appreciation front ...this Forum in the main ..My God it's f*cking sadly lacking in grey matter...they gush about tossers who buggered off when the going got rough.... now operating as satellites in rivals squads...and Solanke gets it in the f√cking neck because the TEAM doesn't perform or yieid points !

This is jumping the queue of Rants that I've got planned for some of you acros 23-24...
