Dominic Solanke

As a fan I'd hate to see him leave. But, 50M ..... wow ...... that's about 40% of the prize money at the lower end of the table. Doesn't it make economic sense (not on the field) to let him go if that's the offer?

It depends, can we replace him with someone with same/better output? If we sell him, and then buy someone who does not improve our output then relegation will likely be the result which would be an economic calamity!

Would you take 50M? It would likely see us relegated, leaving the fee inconsequential.

I would go as far as to say that IF we sold Dom in January then we will be relegated such is his influence on our current team....so if we think that 50 million is a good reward for going down then that will be that...

I wouldn't sell him for under 80 million because I genuinely think we would need that sort of compensation for being dumped out of the PL.

I’m not sure there’s much economic sense in taking £50million now and hugely increasing your chances of missing out on £120million each ongoing campaign.

Especially when you’d have to invest some of it in another striker anyway.

Unless of course we needed it for a stadium…then I’d take the Premier League legacy.

I can't see us letting him go mid-season, that would be downright reckless.
Maybe consider it in the summer when we have a decent period of time to find a suitable replacement if necessary ?
Finding anybody decent in January who can come straight in and do a job whilst costing less than Dom seems like mission impossible to me.

West Ham may need to cough up if the rumours of injury to Antonio are true as they will be without a main striker.

I still don't see Dom leaving though, as he is settled here and if we progress as is hoped, who wouldn't want to be a part of that!?

It is down to a little thing called money. If any bigger club doubles or even triples his wages he will be off like a rat out of an aquaduct. There is no loyalty in football.

Wow thanks for the patronising reply, at 46 I am familiar with such a concept as money. He has no immediate say regardless if they triple his wages, the fee has to be amenable to us. That's how money buys commodities

Hammers won'pay what we insist on for Dom. I can't see us selling him mid-seasion. In the summer maybe if Dom makes it clear he wants to go.

Depends who else we can bring in. This is really difficult and will take time for a new player to settle probably. I think it's more likely we might bring in another striker with the chance of selling Dom in the summer.

Selling your top players in the January window should just be out of the question, we shouldn’t even engage them in discussion. Dom knew that they were interested in the Summer and still signed a new contract. To replace him in January is all but impossible, his value is only going to either increase or at the very worst case stagnate at this point. It makes no sense on any level to sell mid season, economic or otherwise.

He's on a very long deal here, having just signed, which indicates to a degree he's happy here... He keeps banging them in and he'll be worth £60m+ in the summer, and I imagine we'll let him go, given the deal is right for us...

He's so integral to Iraola's plans, I can't see it happening in January... Not one bit...

Makes sense if we replace him with a better player. Obviously easier said than done though.
