As a fan I'd hate to see him leave. But, 50M ..... wow ...... that's about 40% of the prize money at the lower end of the table. Doesn't it make economic sense (not on the field) to let him go if that's the offer?
It depends, can we replace him with someone with same/better output? If we sell him, and then buy someone who does not improve our output then relegation will likely be the result which would be an economic calamity! As a fan I'd hate to see him leave. What are we asking? There is no way West Ham would pay what we're asking considering his new contract length. Caveat for any clauses we don't know about etc.
Now Newcastle - might be another matter.

It is down to a little thing called money. If any bigger club doubles or even triples his wages he will be off like a rat out of an aquaduct. There is no loyalty in football.West Ham may need to cough up if the rumours of injury to Antonio are true as they will be without a main striker.
I still don't see Dom leaving though, as he is settled here and if we progress as is hoped, who wouldn't want to be a part of that!?

Wow thanks for the patronising reply, at 46 I am familiar with such a concept as money. He has no immediate say regardless if they triple his wages, the fee has to be amenable to us. Selling your top players in the January window should just be out of the question, we shouldn’t even engage them in discussion. Dom knew that they were interested in the Summer and still signed a new contract. To replace him in January is all but impossible, his value is only going to either increase or at the very worst case stagnate at this point. It makes no sense on any level to sell mid season, economic or otherwise.
