AFC Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest - Sunday 2 pm

The problem isn’t that she’s a woman. The problem is the current fast track system.

Referees used to spend years in the fifth/sixth tier then move up to League One/Two then a few years on the Championship.

That’s not been the case for Welch, Gillett, Brooks etc.

It felt like a lower league performance, where the ref has taken more attention than the players and that should never be the case.
Yep, you can’t beat experience.

It's yellow if he's not last man, and would be a good example of taking one for the team if he'd just pulled him back. It's all about how he broke up play. Achillies injuries can be career ending. If he's done that deliberately or went in knowing there was any chance of that happening, he deserves a 3 match ban.

It's not a red for DOGSO it's serious foul play - endangering the safety of an opponent, which he clearly did as the guy had to go off and could be out for a while.

Didn’t play well. Forest were intent on cheating a weak ref. At one point Awonyi went up for a header, screamed, grabbed if face, in at attempt to get one o& our boys sent off. She didn’t fall for it but also did t book him for simulation, or as I call it, out and out cheating.

Yates is the new James Milner, being allowed to foul, moan and get in the refs ear with impunity, until he tried to amputate somebody’s leg.

kliuvert could easily have gone, booked for asking for a card, ironically saved a card by them asking for one.

Against QPR this ref did ok but today ws the complete opposite. The AR’s didn’t help much.

End of the first half, attacking corner for Forest, she let it be taken. End of the match, attacking corner for us and she blows up. Don’t mind which but please be consistent.

Billing’s red, seen in slow mo is understandable but nobody seeming wants to mention that they guy wouldn’t have broken free if Alex Scott was prepared to make a tackle instead of waving a foot in the general direction of the ball. I know he is highly skilful, I know he is young but surely playing mens football from the age of 16, especially at step 4, will teach you that you have to be strong to win a ball.

A thoroughly frustrating afternoon, we’d have lost that last year so I’ll take one more point towards safety. TBF, even with a man advantage Forest seemed more keen on holding on to a point than winning.
This ref was shocking at QPR imho

I thought the Senesi yellow he just slipped over first and slide tackled into their player as he had no control and caught player with minor contact.
Yep. He definitely slipped as he was about to put in the tackle and that slip resulted in the foul for which he was penalised.
An unfortunate yellow IMO but I can understand why the ref felt obliged to give one once it unfolded. Common sense would result in a different decision but then you are into the realms of referees having to decide “Did he just lose his footing, or was it deliberate ?”.
That would open up a huge can of worms, so maybe it’s best if the refs just call every foul as a foul and a yellow where necessary

But definitely unfortunate for Senesi, I agree.

I’ve just looked at that table/graph.
I’ve had a couple of light ales.
What does it mean or prove?

It's an alarming stat that she had reffed just 10 pro men's matches in the FL before being politically shoe horned into 2 PL games.
Out her depth, they should realize it's not fair on her either because if she keeps reffing like that it won't be long until any criticism by fans will just be branded as sexist by certain people and not because of the job performance.
I think she got female privilege today and escaped with just a few "you're not fit to ref" chants. A male ref would've been crucified by fans and players non stop for that.

When we went down to 10 florist were never going to score because they were crap
Couldn’t decide if Forest were happy just to see the game out for the point, or whether they were simply too poor to make an impression. Maybe a bit of the former meant they didn’t fully commit to a win resulting in the latter. It was weird being fairly relaxed (in terms of not losing) with 10 men.

They never should have....

Is that right ?

It's the first time I've heard 'The referees a wanker' chant aimed at a woman and people weren't holding back although there was a few ironic laughs going around.

The atmosphere was toxic towards her from both sets of fans.

I've no idea about womens refs, just presumed she'd be experienced enough. I can't imagine how she's feeling tonight, pretty crap I'd imagine.

Plus a few more more but maybe you couldn’t hear.

I think they were happy with a point in the 2nd half but they also defended quite well and deserved a point, after the red card they had lot more of the ball but looked content with a draw as they didn't want to risk getting caught on break.
