Safe standing

I disagree with your stance on this for various reasons. Recording seat numbers and cancelling tickets? That's bang out of order under any scenario and you've been alone in saying this on several occasions. Are you a steward per chance ?

You know as well as I do the club have completely ignored the dynamics of the NS and its years of 'evolution' by deciding where safe standing should go without doing their homework.

The first place it should have gone is the block where people have stood for years and where the club have accepted that people have stood for years and is actually part of what the NS has morphed into with zero complaints from elsewhere. They could have incorporated less rows up the NS if there was a minimum allocation, which clearly there wasn't, they've just made it up.

Those same people you want banned if they don't sit are more than likely ST holders who have stood there for years and thus have no option to move into the safe standing area as they wouldn't have been offered the option to move.

So introduce safe standing and let them stand until the end of the season and take things from there. Nothing will happen, despite the alleged threats.
Sense at last.

A poor decision to introduce this during the season…makes complete sense to organise for next season and allow ST holders chance to absorb it and make changes properly

There are pockets of people in the East Stand at the back. There are many in the Ted Shed who stand. The new rail seats will probably be over subscribed next season and I can’t see these people all being thrown out.

At the risk of agreeing with you that would further mess with people who have moved down tho the front part of the stand because they don't want to stand.

Just my personal opinion but the lower seats would not be my choice if I couldnt stand. Would make sense that the whole of the north was standing and between seasons people look for better seats elsewhere. The issue being those other seats being available which brings us back to the new stadium discussion.

Occurs to me we're only a couple days away from the scheduled opening and first run of this. Assume all is well and the club have been beavering away installing metalwork etc. Anyone seen or heard how it's been going?

Saw a photo on Twitter the other day, no idea what section of the ground it was or even if it was finished but it looked good.

I’m interested to see what it’s like from a distance and would have been super excited from a personal stand point if it had come when I was at the back of the north stand.

From that picture it looks like the existing seats have been retained, I imagined they would all be replaced.

when it was announced we couldn't work out if they could be attached to the existing seats without having to drill and bolt into the concrete, which cant be easy

Its also all across the back of the away end.

The seats have indeed been retained and the "thin" bars fitted around them. Not ideal as it slight reduces the already limited space and seat pitch in the stand.
Looks like they have gone for the cheapest possible solution. I was hoping they would also put in new seats with no or a very flat back to the step behind to give more standing and passing space.
