AFC Bournemouth v Manchester City - Saturday 5.30 pm

I really hate this fixture home and away, just never feel like there's a chance of beating them or even getting draw. They have longest win record in PL history against us 13 wins out of 13.

All records are there to be broken, but I do concur with what you say.

I really think AI will be itching to get something out of this game so we could see an unusual starting line up or a different system.

His assistant has already bloodied a nose at RV, and if we start brightly, nick a goal and follow it up, perhaps we can get something out of the game.

To go 2-0 up after a very fast start would be our best chance of getting something out of the game.

Hopefully De-Bruyne isn't able to play, and it looks like hairband is also out.

Wouldnt put money on it, but hoping we can at least be competitive and hopefully get something out of the game.

Can't see a huge margin loss like almost every other time we've played them.

Smithy will need cover.

They are the best team in world treble winners so that's the excuse.
Only that Barcelona team under Pep back in 2009-13 were better so
technically they're 2nd best team ever over 5/6 years now.

They haven't been at their best if you look at their past 2 against Chelsea/Brentford they wasted loads of chances but still got 4 points.
Doku absolutely annihilated us in away game I imagine we will go 5 at back to start.

They're hard to break down if it's Ake, Dias, Akanji, Walker. The only thing I can say is Chelsea hit them well on counter with quick sideline passes and pace that got them for the goal as Ake and Walker prefer being CB;s but they played 4 CB's alot last season and won a treble.

If Brentford can give them a game away, I fancy our chances.

However they may have had a backlash for that 'poor' win.

They will be fuming with that 1-0 win. Haaland is likely to score every touch he has probably one by accident. Rodri, De-Bruyne, Silva, Foden, Haaland just can't compete with players like that.

And then they mix and match with Grealish or Doku. Even Alvarez is insanely good.

Grealish definitely out.

De-Bruyne also likely out.

Can't see their manager risking him for lowly Bournemouth even if he is 50/50.

Haaland has off days.

Really think we may finally get a draw at least.

Need everyone on top form, and cut out the bullshit silly mistakes that have gifted the opposition goals over the last few weeks.

Of course you can compete with players like that. Maybe not technically, but you can frustrate them, and not just by trying to shut them out.

When Barca had Xavi-Iniesta-Messi-Suarez-Messi I think they had a worse defence than City. Even when they had Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Deco,Xavi, Iniestia they weren't great at back as City are.

In all honesty you can't, you can park the bus hope they have an off day and try hit them on break. But if they fancy it big ask, they absolutely destroyed Real Madrid last season the ultimate European winners.

Last goal we scored against City was a long ball over the top and Sinisterra put it away.

They aren't machines, they are a very talented squad of some of the best players in the world.

Charlie Daniels scored a screamer......

Charlie Daniels.

I'm hoping we will at least be competitive, and when we do have a chance, we put it away.

That's all we can hope for.....then who knows what might happen.

If we approach every game against Man City like we have the last 18 or so games, and accept defeat before a ball is kicked, then yes, we will lose.

I’d landed at Heathrow. Bizarrely with Andrew Surmans wife and kids on the same plane. It was about five to five and my missus said ‘blimey you drew with Man City’. Every other game had finished. My phone regained signal just in time for the goal flash…

You forgot to switch to your Reality and Realism account Neil. Did you drive home in your Hillman Imp : )

Another pickled egg, Neil : )

Jarred Gillet has reffed us three times against Brentford and was awful in all three, twice awarding penalties against us.
He is the worst referee I've seen.

Brentford away was a disgrace in the play off. Kelly hand ball and then no hand ball when Pinnick handled it above his head.

The Toney penalty last season is on equal billing with the Mitrovic one, from a very big field, of the most appalling penalties ever given against us.

Tbh Neil has a profile picture of himself on this forum, bigger balls than pretty much everyone.
I will stand for him trial by combat as I haven't had a black eye in a while I miss it.

I can hear Unlucky Alf at that precise moment "oh bugger"
