Neto

We do, and it could be a fcking good one if we made a few more prudent investments.

An upgrade here, an upgrade there.

Not the scattergun approach of spending Bills money.

Defensively we have made some shrewd investments. Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Senesi.

It's the throw enough **************** and one should stick approach in all the other parts of the team where it doesn't look so good.

Traore, if we get our money back for him, there is an actual God, and I may start going to church.

Scott, haven't seen enough of him at this stage, but a huge outlay, hasn't really made the step between Champuonship and PL, but is young and has development to come.

Outtara, 20 million of the most unpredictable football one could imagine.

Let's say that again..... 20 million.

He hasn't looked like a 20 million player at any stage, just like Traore.

Unal should come good, Adam's possibly.

20 million on Sinisterra who can't displace Tav.

Don't forget we tried to sign Castrovilli and Zaniero.

For fxks sake, Liverpool can have Hughes, he hasn't pulled up any trees in the last 2 years at all.

SDD will be wanking himself furiously that he's won a debate with Neil, but let's be honest Hughes hasn't signed anyone outstanding in the forward places for 3 years.

Then there was that Ecuadorian guy...Foley announced the signing, it never happened.

Foley pays for the players, he doesn't negotiate the deals.

That's why Hughes is off.....not because he was brilliant at what he did.
Last season, Ouattara helped keep us up. We were crying out for more reinforcements and crucially pace. He delivered. Bit like afobe in 15/16.

Add to the mix the nature of the L’orient arrangement and January premium then the transfer fee goes up above the expected level.

Having said that, looking at dango I reckon he is a better left back than Kerkez and Kelly. Clearly a decent player there that we can develop

I think he's solid competition for Kerkez for sure. They are very different. Dango is more robust and Kerkez is quick racing forward, helping the left winger. Kerkez's defensive skills have improved, though to be fair. Kelly is on his way out, so whether either Dango or Kerkez are yet better or not sort of doesn't matter. They are the future for us, and Kelly has decided he isn't. Exciting things to come from both Kerkez and Dango I hope. Looking forward to watching them grow more and more.

Borrowed time methinks, blushes saved yet again by the team as a whole. Iraola will stick with him til end of season cos he's captain. I for one think Travers is a better option but surely in for a replacement come seasons end

Any goalkeeper in a mid- table or lower team is going to be the most pressured player in at least half the seasons games in this league..and bound to make a mistake or two...but No more than the outfield players in the same situation...
..put Travers back in and the Forum will be on his case after a few defeats...
Neto 'getting it' after a couple of consecutive Wins....f√cking beggars belief does this Forum at times...!!!

What's a forum for if you can't discuss ?

Every result that doesn't go our way comes with pelters for Neto. I feel like I need to repost this weekly. There's 37 keepers on the list, Neto is 9th. There are 21 with a negative score (including Ederson) yet Neto isn't good enough for the league? View attachment 13535
Any stats for goals conceded through blatant goalkeeper errors? Because that's my issue with Neto. The hospital pass to Billing, the punch into the back of Solanke, dropping the ball for Beto to score. These aren't isolated incidents, they've been a fairly regular feature this season and those three at least have resulted in goals. They're nothing to do with the defenders who one or two on here want to blame, they're just bad mistakes by him. Too often he invites pressure and but for Coleman's og yesterday he would've cost more points.

So you just brush off the og?

Like I said, show me he’s much worse than other keepers.

Well yes, I am brushing off the og mainly because I imagine they're discussing that on the Everton forum and it had nothing to do with Neto, who, ahem, if you look to the top of the page, you will see this thread is about. ;)

As for showing you a better keeper, I'm pretty sure I remember you defending other players and managers in the past and it's turned out that there were actually better ones out there that most of us didn't know about.

You're not on holiday with Blake and Hughes, are you? Might be time to lay off the cocktails .

I bid you good morrow:tophat:

If a keeper has got to PL level, selected for a top 20 club, risen above thousands of other keepers across the Nation..then surely the large majority of the goals he concedes are due to mistakes made by the 5 or 6 people guarding the immediate area in front of him..
See Pickford the International guy for England...he lets in goals for Everton that he perhaps would not when in the England jersey with better defenders to help him.

Idiots on here have tried to destroy Travers....and would do so again if he replaced Neto..

These people between the sticks in this league have to contend with hungry strikers like Erling Sterling and Raheem Haaland...

Sorry Mr Trent...but, I liked that.

He's now up to 6th in goals prevented per 90.

Really don't think the odd Neto error means we need a new keeper.

He must have been made captain for a reason, and I don't think it's for the mid game tactics.

Him and Travers are of a very similar standard.

Yes the error against Everton wasn't great, but he also pulled off a very good stop.

I'd say we stick with Neto, get rid or Radu and Randolph and get some competition in for those 2.

Can't see Travers wanting to stay as a number 2 long term.

Penalties, even though we don't concede many is where Travers edges Neto.

Neto never looks like stopping any of them.
