Training ground

Perhaps Mr Foley would like the ladies and the development team to play home games at DC, rather than Ringwood and Wimborne. If they can get it at a knock down price, makes sense to keep it as part of the portfolio.

Is Bill working on the theory that redeveloping the current stadium if he can get it at a knockdown price will be quicker and cheaper than building from scratch?
I think this article being quoted is mixing quotes from Bill, and not understanding the situation.
The last interview from Bill talks purely about a new stadium where the training pitches and athletics track are, there is no need to purchase DC

exactly what I was thinking, a stadium for those games will be a good addition and maybe the odd boxing match or concert there as well?

Exactly, we own the Ted Shed end quarter of the ground, Structadene own the other 3/4 North Stand End of the current ground. So if we are to build the new ground where the current training pitches are why do we need to involve the land that Structadene own at all?
I guess we wouldn't need to involve SD for that land, but if my suspicions are correct on what we actually own, once we leave DC, there could be a situation where the ends of the East stand and Main stand will sit on land that we own and would very possibly want to build on.

All the quotes and soundbites from Foley have suggested that they are looking to build 'directly' next to Dean Court, where the training pitches are. This sounds like the idea of demolishing the athletics track could no longer be an option, I imagine due to the sheer cost of demolition and rebuilding a new track and stand, and that we're looking to squeeze something on the vacant land... In which case, buying DC to allow us to grow in that direction would make sense...

The possible repositioning of the new ground could also be the reason why we've gone for a smaller than hoped for capacity... All speculation of course...

I made a similar previous comment on the stadium thread. You’d also be able to use the facilities at the current Dean Court on a match day for the men’s game for extra hospitality.

A rejig and the athletics ground could even be incorporated. All down to whether the money works.

If the price is right, sure he’s going to buy it. Their objective is to turn their £120 Million investment into a circa £500 Million investment.

I suppose it's a bit of a catch 22. The land on which DC is built has the restrictive covenant that allows only sporting use. This will inevitably be lifted but only if AFCB have moved to a new ground. AFCB could perhaps use this as leverage to negotiate a lower price and then sell on for housing once the new ground is built.

Hi I'm new on here but have been following the site for a while.

I think it's poor that we haven't made the Ted Mac bigger. You look at other temporary stands and there is no reason why our south stand shouldn't be double the size of what it. We've been in the prem enough seasons to do it even if we do go on to build a new ground. Fans can't get tickets until at least 2027. Why not make the south stand a 6k job like the Fulham away stand

EM would have. If, it was structurally possible.

It’s still standing and is a legacy of his.

He did come before MD, unless you choose to claim otherwise.
No except he came before Demin....of course he introduced him....but would be very disappointed if EM had anything to do with the club going forward....that is just my opinion.....you may choose to differ

They are both gone, but the recognition EM got at his passing was fooking pitiful.

Someone letting fireworks off at the 69th minute is all he got.

He’s a part of our history, whether you like that or not, and he deserves to be recognised for that.
