Milos Kerkez

He’s got all the ingredients and huge potential. But does attitude now come into question? He doesn’t appear to be getting his head down and concentrating on making that left back role his own. He’s lost his spot to both Lloyd Kelly and Dango… he should be nailed on at the moment and he’s getting dropped… whilst on the background flirting with Chelsea on social media.

I'd be suprised if he still here in 12 months time. I'd be pissed off too if Dango was deemed to be a better option in my specialised position.

Then why give him the chance? Make the manager unable to drop you.

Christie stays on the pitch with a dead leg and the flu because he’s shown his worth and never gives up. Even on 60% he adds more value to the side than not being selected.

Lewis Cook has battled his way to make his place his own, Kluivert took his chance in a perhaps unfamiliar role.

You’ve got players who knuckle down and get on with, professional pride, whatever you want to call it.

Then you’ve got others who don’t and Kerkez, like others before him, appears to be in that bracket for now.

He’s still very young though so can easily learn from it and become better for it.

Kerkez has the potential to get the kind of move he obviously wants, although why Chelsea in their current state?! But he's got many years on his side. He's hardly proven himself here yet. Clubs don't scout or buy players off the back of social media, they do so off the back of performances on the pitch.

I'd guess toying with Dango as a left back for as long as it's proving quite effective is a way of telling Milos he still needs to knuckle down and learn his craft before he's ready to move onwards and upwards.

Pure speculative pieces like this aren't going to help anyone

I would put Kerkez and Scott in the same bracket. Very talented but a bit immature. Neto was having a right go at Scott on wednesday for not covering back and the look Scott gave him back was not very appreciative to say the least.

Sometimes it can take players a season to settle in. He'll come good.

Anyone else starting to think Kerkez isn't all that?......i had high hopes for him when he first came but i look at him now and think meh.......what does he do?.....not particularly great defensively and more importantly doesn't hurt the opposition when he goes forward.......don't know if he's just going through the motions after having his head turned or whether he's just not very good.

I’m not sure what his age has to do with anything, this is first team football and he should be judged the same as everyone else. He’s here to develop his game but he also needs to be good enough in the here and now to contribute to our immediate objectives.

There is nothing wrong with making an observation that he isn’t quite ready yet, I think it’s a fair one. Everything he does defensively seems very erratic and rushed, he does get up and down the flank well but rarely looks like putting any kind of delivery into the box, let alone a threatening one. I think he needed an extra season of two in Holland before making the step to the toughest league in the world, maybe we could loan him to Lorient next season if they stay up? Get the impression with him that the jump was too big and too soon. Having said all of that I feel like he will come good in time, he has the ingredients he just needs a bit of polishing.

If Kelly commits 100% for the rest of the season and hits top form, he could easily be gifted with a place in England's starting 11 for the Euro's. Chillwell and Shaw are both cr@p, next in line is Cresswell and Bertand!
AI is in a tricky position of choosing whether or not to develop Kerkez and give him that left back spot for the rest of the season or play Kelly, who will do a better job (currently) for us there before he F's off in the summer.

Kerkez been injured and probably unsettled party due to Kelly being in front of him and the silly social media stuff. He’s young and probably has been dressed down which will have knocked him. Be interesting to see how he finishes the season now.

Would absolutely not send him out on loan. He’s raw but he’ll bounce back.

Agree, he's absolutely ready, or very near to, and is a top prospect.

Certainly good enough for us.
