Justin Kluivert

Unsung hero of the season for me.

8 goals and 2 assists this season, whether it was by design or not, but his move to the number 10 role was a pivotal moment in our season.

He’s made that role his own, we look a better team with him in that position, when it’s all clicking with the press and yet he barely gets a mention.

Still only 24 as well. A great signing.

Great value too. Every signing will have some risk factor in the sort of market we operate in and Kluivert had question marks due to the fact he'd not settled anywhere for long. Couldn't really have gone better.

Been very good this season.

Well done Justin.

Positional awareness is great and has a decent shot on him.

Not a 90 minute player however, which is the only concern.

Surely any Pl footballer should be able to last 90 minutes?

It's a sign of great coaching from AI (as well as good attitude from Kluivert).

At the start of the season Kluivert looked like a talented headless chicken. AI has given his game some focus and structure, and our massive upswing in form coincided with him settling into the #10 role. With freedom to pick out pockets of space across the front line, it's hard to defend against.

Wait, are you suggesting Christie, Klievert, Solanke, Zabarnyi, Semenyo and the Argentinian Karl Broadhurst were not actually bad signings after all?

Boy, that would certainly undermine the foundation of a theory that our recruitment team are useless.

What next, bigger clubs trying to take those players AND the recruitment team?!?! That would be silly.

AI really is a great coach.

Solanke, Zabarnyi, Sinisterra, Smith, Christie etc etc, have all upped their games.

That's why Outtara looks like a problem.

Haven't seen anything to suggest he's a PL player, apart from that one time, at band camp.

White Hart Lane.

Didn’t he get a goal at DC as well as some decent performances?

Anyway, Kluiverts mum

Indeed amazing to think some bloke on here was banging away telling us how rubbish Hughes was at his job. Hughes leaves quite some legacy of a lot of successes to outweigh the flops.
I think his leaving us will be a big loss to our recruitment department and quite a challenge to overcome.

But the fact that Bill is clearly not daft and from his own experience will know how important recruitment is to these sporting ventures, well that reassures me somewhat.

Hopefully we’ll get some top bods in to help out Franno behind the scenes. If not, we could find ourselves in a spot of bother once we start cashing in on players and failing to find adequate replacements. In a couple of seasons we will see how well the transition has worked out !

Yep !

Interesting to note that with more Andoni time, Cook, Christie, Semenyo, Kluivert, Senesi, Sinisterra, Zabs and probably a few others have all become key players for us and are looking to be much better players than we thought they were. Clearly there is a lot of good coaching going on and we have players who are responding well to it.

In Kluivert’s case, having seen his club history so far, I did think that he might have a poor attitude but the way he has improved under AI proves to me that he not only has talent but is also prepared to work hard to improve himself. Can’t ask for more than that. Delighted to have him here. He looks to have been a brilliant signing.

Dango is a hit and miss type player but no way is he as useless as you say. AI is indeed a really good coach and he clearly likes Dango enough to regularly pick him. He missed the first four games through injury and then a few when he was at the ACN - other than that he's featured in 24 of the 26 games he was available for and has averages over 35 minutes on the pitch in those games.

Have to agree regarding Kluivert. I wasn't sure when we first signed him what the point of him was but game by game he has become a real integral part of this team and how we play. He's definitely now looking the quality player his name would suggest. Well done Justin.
