AFC Bournemouth v Norwich City - Fourth Round League Cup (EFL)

Listening to Eddie in the car on the way home in his interview with Kris he really sounded disappointed with most of the players performances.

Think he singled out Pugh who had a good game, otherwise none others mentioned. Then asked about Boruc, Eddie thought he had a good game.

I was thinking back to the Blackburn game, we nearly let that slip and again not that outstanding performances, except for Junior Stanislas.

Have the players got the same mindset for this cup as they do for Premier League games. Were their minds more on Saturday and United?

I m not sure about it being about Man Utd on Saturday..maybe two or three of them .but the others might have an attitude about being used for the Cup games only/mainly ...and not Visualising winning it...because of the presence of Man C and Chelsea ! Obviously that is Not how Eddie would want them thinking.....whatever.. this a downside, imo, of putting out 'weaker' sides for cup games. " We are the Second Choices but he expects us to immediately Step Up" - and privately comforted by high wages!

And then nothing.

Just making the point that our second string did not beat a team motoring in the championship

We were embarrassingly second best last night and proved beyond any shadow of doubt that we do not have quality in depth throughout the squad. What was even worse was the canaries also played their second team and should have won easily.
We know the squad members that are not up to premiership standard, but Eddies
loyalty to them is now wearing a bit thin and come the end of the season some tough decisions will have to be made.

This is absolute b*llocks to be fair.

Last night proved nothing of the sort unless you like to overreact to things. Talk of loyalty to players is laughable when you are criticising the second string. Talk of them not being up to premiership [sic] standard is even more laughable given that we are not just sixth in the league - we have the most points of any sixth placed team after ten games and loads of last night's starting lineup have played in the league this season.

As bang average as we were last night we still beat them without too much sweat. Yeah we were poor at times and gave them chances to score but as soon as they did we just went up the other end and took the lead again.

If anything has been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt it is that you wet the bed at the very first sign of trouble even when we are flying.
