Strangely enough there was a P.N.E supporter in Burton Green stores last week. As you do, whilst queuing for the P.O. as 2 strangers we got talking about centre-halves. He reckons Davies doesn't have Cookie's positional sense, no way would he have made that save at Norwich : )
 
Definitely need a defender, Tindall said as much in his post match interview with Mepham being called into action earlier than we would have wanted due to a lack of options.

Preston are in that situation from us and PL clubs

L1 clubs will be in that situation from Champ clubs



It's always the case and always will be, unfortunately, and it's made worse by the intensity of the transfer window
 
£10mil for a championship defender in the last year of his contract?
Time to walk away, they’re having a laugh and can smell that premier league money.
 
For a player that has one year left on his contract, £10m is ridiculous... We're only expected to get circa £5m more for Josh King, a proven PL forward, because of his contract situation...

Go back with £7m and leave it there...
 
Is Ben Davies not left sided as well? Do we not have enough Left-sided CBs? Unless we're looking at more LB cover as well, but surely with Rico, Daniels (hopefully) and Kelly we have enough there...?

He is and one of their fans pointed out he is similar to Kelly, hence surprised we are interested.
 
Go back closer to the deadline with a take it or leave offer of £6m. Anything more is crazy for a Championship defender in the last year of his contract. As the deadline gets closer they’ll probably realise £6m now is better than £0m in 9 months.
