Benik Afobe

Let me help everyone here.
We signed Benik for 10M

We lent him back to Wolves for £2M, that was taken out of the original fee we paid for him.
We still owed £5.2M on the original deal, which has been deducted from our original purchase.

We are slightly in profit, but not a lot after wages.

As I always say, there is nobody at AFCB who cuts it with big money, or understands how it works.

Yeah, nobody at AFCB cuts it with big money or understands it. That Denim bloke doesn't have a clue does he? And those Americans just got lucky. Christ, you talk some right bollox :)

Just heard on the radio that Wolves are looking to sell on Benik to Stoke right now, in order to turn a quick profit......amazing if true !

Weirdly, I remember this also happened with his old song budy, Juan Iturbe. On loan from Porto to Hellas Verona who had an option to sign for about €15, then went to Roma for nearly €10 more after a few weeks.

If afobes contract has a buy back clause and fee set then there’s not much we could have done. As a January window signing we probably had to agree to the buyback fee or else he was staying put

At the end of the day, receiving £14.5m including the loan fee and his wages off our books for a few months is good business by us. Wolves need to be careful in that they are already under investigation over their transfer dealings, so if there is any truth in this Stoke rumour, its not going to improve the perception of them.

Why would Afobe agree to go Stoke?.....if its true then he's been treated pretty shabbily by the club he thinks so much of.......

He might not want to but maybe wolves do??

Wasn't there some deal involving an Italian club and Real Madrid (maybe) where they had an option to buy a player back at a fixed price. They did it then immediately afterwards flogged him on at a big profit?

By the time the afobe money is all levelled out, taking various unpaid balances and loan fees into account, it might be that wolves are only handing over a few quid. Stoke might then offfer lots of quids and wolves make a tidy profit helping FFP.

But most likely it's just transfer rumour mill bollox.
That was basically what happened with Alderweireld at Saints who had an option to purchase but his parent club, Atletico Madrid? reneged on that and sold him to Spurs.

When a club sells a player, they are entitled to 10% of the fee. Unless of course, the player requests to leave. Assuming Afobé isn’t going to be too keen, for Wolves to show a profit, the bid from Stoke will have to be significant. I can’t see this happening until January at the earliest TBH

So Wolves pay us £12.5 million for a player they sold to us for £10 million.

Now Stoke City are rumoured to be splashing £12 million to bring him to their club.

Telegraph reporting Wolves paid us £10 million for Afobe.

From various reports you could assume that the transfer fee is £10million and we've already received £2.5million as a loan fee and wages and then the add on following promotion.

@mjmarr_star Understand #wwfc willing to listen to offers for Benik Afobe. Stoke among a number of club's interested. Striker's second permanent spell at Molineux could be a short one.
