Bill Foley

I’m going to guess that Sky Sports News are expecting something today.

Jamie, who has stepped in for Botto a couple of times as match day announcer is currently in Kings Park…bizarrely reporting on the Liv Golf thingy.

Unless of course they’ve done coverage of O’Neil’s press conference which I could easily have missed?

I genuinely wonder what would go through his mind during the tour, bearing in mind he comes from a country where there are high schools that have spent getting towards $100m on their american football stadium.

Given our stadium is meant to represent one of the clubs at the absolute top level of the sport in this country, he must wonder how it came about.

I submit to you that he probably already knows most of that story and some of how he intends to go about improving on that situation.

Okay, I have just got hold of some footage from today's board meeting. Seems to have gone well with Bill Foley bringing over some gifts for one and all. Also looks like there are plans for a casino somewhere, looking good! :grinning:

At which point Blake needs to pass onto Foley's people some contact and meeting details for Structadene and BCP Council.

I guess we find out soon if he's going to then leverage the buyout money against future PL TV revenue, like with the Burnley one.

I'll admit to being nervous about this change. I'm not sure we've seen too many good US owners in English football yet, but there are certainly a slew of crap ones. Here's hoping Foley bucks the trend.

The one thing that gives me hope that Foley will be a good owner for us is that if he doesn't invest in the club then where is he going to even get his money back from if he ever chose to sell? We don't have any assets (other than playing staff) to speak of, if the club were outside the Premier League then we would be worth significantly less than what he has paid for us. He has to grow the club to keep or improve his initial investment.

One big issue that gives me hope about the deal, is that he can't asset strip the club
