We could also do with a Right winger to cover Brooks........we don't want to see a left back playing there again! We need a striker and an attacking midfielder full stop!
Looks like he’s off to Man Utd now, so I guess we ask for Cavani instead? If Ronaldo goes to Man City, can we have Liam Delap on loan? Please.
I hope you are right, I just can't see someone who is good enough to compete costing less than £15m, let alone £10m, bearing in mind we sold someone for £5m (or something like that). Seriously hope I am wrong. Not at all. I’m suggesting that as good as Dom has been this season there will be moments when he is out of form and that place may become up for grabs, every squad needs players who are capable of stepping into the first team role. All of the players I listed would compete with Dom and would be available for well under 10m. There may also be moments where we want to play two strikers, depending on the opposition.

Totally agree, anyone good enough to join us at the level we want to have in reserve could probably guarantee themselves a start with most of the teams in the bottom half of the division.Pretty sure SP is finding this as frustrating as us. Is difficult because when players know they are likely to be back up, they are less likely to want to come. That limits you somewhat unless it's a striker who can also play in other positions.
Dom will definitely give this season his all as you say but there are so many uncontrollables: injury, illness or isolation so yes I agree that we need a back up. With hindsight, perhaps we should have got a player in before selling Surridge but with the financial pressure of the moment, I suspect there was a risk of losing out on the Surridge sale and having more strikers than needed.

They either aren't motivated enough to want to play every week or so big-headed that they already think they can force their way into our team to be a regular, despite the fact their market value says otherwise.
If we admit it, everyone wants to get someone on a lowly wage that the market values at £3m who turns out to be worth £15-£20m. Hard to see that happening.
That's the right winger sorted.I see Patrick Roberts linked by Sky
Don’t need to spend more than 3m to get a decent player at this level.Mark McAdam implied last week we weren’t going to be spending more than 2-3m on anyone. I’m expecting a striker on loan.
This would be quality, too used to being disappointed in recent transfer windows to think it could be possible though lolDomingos Quina rumours gathering pace again
Interestingly I was listening to a podcast the other day that had Rob Dickie on....he was asked who the most talented player he ever played with was and he said Patrick Roberts....I wasn't sure who he was tbh so I looked him up......would be strange if he signed for us a few days later!SSN
CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS WANT ROBERTS
Championship clubs are lining up to sign Patrick Roberts; available on a free transfer from Manchester City.
In alphabetical order; Blackburn, Bournemouth, Swansea and Stokeall want to sign the winger.
St Etienne and City-Group affiliate Troyes in France, FC Koln, Hamburg, Arminia Bielefeld and Greuther Furth in Germany, and one club in Portugal are also keen.
City are willing to let Roberts go for nothing but with a percentage of any future fee if he is sold on, despite him having a year left on his contract.
The former Fulham academy star and England youth international has spent nearly all of his time at City out on loan, playing for Celtic, Girona, Norwich, Middlesbrough and Derby County.
I agree it's not impossible to pay £3m for a player that can turn out to be worth it. But there's a lot of luck involved as there are as many frogs as princes for that sum. You are asking a lot of recruitment to spend the minimum and expect an impact.Don’t need to spend more than 3m to get a decent player at this level.
