As said earlier I reckon they will have done their homework and their lawyers will be confident of success... Only six of the clubs are no longer bound by EU competition law so maybe they didn't do all of their homework.

Having read an article about it in El Pais, it sounds as if the purpose of the appeal is to stop UEFA and FIFA from imposing sanctions on Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.
