First board meeting.

And a few additional questions, do the board have experienced football men around them that have a couple of names lined up just in case EH decides to leave. I mean, this board/owner has been fortunate that up until now they haven't need to make a managerial appointment. Also, if EH stays, I hope he is guaranteed a slice of the, I imagine, close to 100 million they will get when selling the players who want to leave.

To be fair he has spent time with Sarri and others to hone his trade. The Lyon game was very Sarriball. He's not stupid, he knows there's things to learn, that the game evolves and he doesn't always have all the answers.

Out of interested what kind of person are you suggesting?
Well, it’s support as well as education. We spent a lot of money in the transfer market but still went down. Most of the crew around him came up from the lower leagues, are they really the best sounding boards. I’m not a football recruiter, but someone with longer at the top and more success there, could surely, at least, help with the pressure.

Well given how popular continental coaches are in the PL compared to their British counterparts, I think you could say - plenty.
I’m not sure I get the link between the popularity of continental coaches in the Pl and Eddie needing an experienced assistant at this stage of his career in the Championship

If Eddie stays then a back room reshuffle is needed to get some new fresh ideas etc. just hope what ever is decided is done fast but also done right and we can Start to get ready For the oncoming season

If Eddie stays then his staff stay....whats the point of discussing something that's never going to happen?........it's the same staff that won the Championship tbf......but no lets get a couple of foreign coaches in with no Championship experience....makes total sense.

I think a few changes could help to some Degree as we seemed very stale and when the same staff have been anywhere long term complacency sets in. As to who we would get to assist Eddie I don’t follow trainers and coaches.

Do these foreign coaches also need someone with more experience after 500 games?

If you're suggesting continental coaches are better maybe we should just get rid and get one of them in?

Like others have said, the guy isn't an idiot, he knows it's gone wrong and that he needs to find solutions. It may be new staff, players, tactics, coaches, etc.

There’s a lot a people in here who can’t see past Eddie, love him to bits but think he needed help last season and with what we have in the back room he looked alone when all he needs with him is an old head who he could discuss things with

There’s lots of old heads on this forum. All he needed to do was log in!!

There's more to it than Eddie "needing help". He got things horribly wrong for much of the season as his midfield was overrun week after week. He neither added numbers to the midfield from the squad nor recruited in January. Why?? The problem was so glaring it's bizarre he didn't deal with it. And if he doesn't strengthen midfield over the summer we'll likely have the same problems next season.

Anyone around at the club who can point to this sort of deficiency? ... or is Eddie deaf to advice? Love him ... but his stubbornness can be costly.

Regarding our Directors, anyone know who Messrs. Rothwell and Seitz are?

Is one a finance specialist , as the club Financial Director is not on the Board.

A four man Board with Mostyn and Blake as two of them doesn't exactly inspire me.

For me the recruitment side is where we fell down badly just like villa but they got away with it.backroom staff have done a great job over the past years IMO.to many duds bought against the successes. With players going recruitment is more important than ever before.

Both Rothwell and Seitz are bankers working primarily for a company called Helix Fiduciary in Switzerland who deal with trusts and wealth management.
My worry is both of them are only going to look at it from a profit and loss situation and I worry the long term goal will be ignored (as it has already with no real infrastructure changes or legacy from our time in the Prem).
Dont get me wrong, I understand we invested (Badly?) in the squad, but if these two are linked closely to Max, will they advise reducing costs right down and cutting and running now theres no premier league income (barring parachute payment)
