Shame it was poor refereeing that allowed Fernandes to say and do as he wished. A good ref and he wouldn't have been influential.

Also, he didn't actually play very well.

Agreed but he scored 2 goals as a midfielder in a team that played like doo doo. His defensive contribution was decent too.

You could make the opposite argument that he'd have played better had his team mates linked up better.

Statistically the best player overall on who scored.

None of these things ever account for refereeing.
 
BBC views on AFCB. A word that came to mind, superficiality.

The first goal should have been chalked off for the foul in the build up.

The second was a penalty.
