Just watched it too and you’re right, it was impressive, but it was shocking from BC the amount of time he had on the ball, no tackles, no closing down, they just let him run the show. Can’t believe Pearson didn’t address that.

Well that shows how fake those stats are. Apparently Lewis only dribbled the ball once. All those times he ran with the ball in the second half before passing it forward must have been an illusion.

Incredible today. I love the way he turns players inside out to get away from them, it looks dangerous when he does it but it keeps on coming off for him and he leaves them looking like mugs. He also did a lot of important work in defence, got quite a few really important blocks in when required.
As already mentioned, showed great restraint without it significantly affecting his performance after that very early yellow card.
He was quite simply magnificent today, almost flawless.
Take a bow Lewis ! You are back to your very best. Well done !

Yes, it’s the best he’s been for us. I’ve always been underwhelmed by him in previous seasons, but he’s been superb in recent weeks.

His turning and dribbling from deep in tight circumstances was outstanding yesterday. The most impressive thing of all though was how he played as a sole defensive midfielder for 97 mins on a yellow card and managed this situation superbly without letting his team down.

I wondered if Parker might swap him and Lerma in case another ‘one for the team’ was needed but such was his control of the game it wasn’t necessary

It’s not Lermas position and this becomes more noticeable against better opposition. Wonder, if we go up, whether we will play with two holding midfielders which would he ideal for Jeff and Cook. Not a normal Parker formation though…
