Marc Pugh

Holy s*** sign him up! Looks like he could do a job as an understudy to Lerma.

It's one of the crazy things about a career that starts in earnest around 20 and is all but over by the time you're 30 that all that knowledge about stuff like nutrition and the skills to cook are only mastered when you're virtually in the twilight of your career. As a young man you're really at the mercy of the knowledge and care of the club staff.

By the time you have your head around nutrition, training, tactics etc your heading for retirement.

Thinking about that Ramadan thread, I wonder what Marc, as a sports nutrition and athletic performance expert, would have to say about a player who eats and drinks nothing for 13 hours before a game ?

Not trying to stir anything up here, I am genuinely interested to know if it's possible to deprive yourself of food and fluids and still put in a peak performance.

Common sense would probably say no, but I'd be interested to hear what an expert would say.
