Matt O Riley

As much sense as the continuity myth of the old firm featuring a club whose board opted for liquidation or the misinformation of relegation of a club with no licence to play.

Back on topic perhaps a swap deal involving Dennis or will he be at Hibs next season.

I don't think anyone in England gives a sh*t about petty Scottish bullshit. We've got our own petty bullshit to get on with.

Also, you're posting on the messageboard of a club that has gone through multiple name changes and administrations and which very nearly dissolved completely following the minus seventeen season. There's probably Celtic or Aberdeen forums where you'd get more interest in your petty grievances against Glasgow Rangers.

Not sure if this was in reply to what I said, so apologies if not, but this isn’t what I said, or meant, and I’m not sure why you thought that! I literally just meant of all the positions to strengthen, No10 would be be at the bottom of list in terms of priorities for me. Not…that there are no better No10s in the world lol.
I tend to agree... The 10 role is where we have significant Depth with Kluivert, Scott and Billing all vying for the spot and then you could add Semenyo, Brooks and Sinisterra into the mix to play 10...

There's clearly players in the game better, but we've just bought 2 of the main 3 and Billing has just signed a new contract... There are absolutely other positions we need to strengthen before considering the 10... IMO :)

If we could get him on the cheap Lorient might appreciate the help if he's able to make the huge step up to Ligue 1.

Not sure any of those names are particularly strong PL level number 10's tbh.

Kluivert doing well there for sure, but not his strongest position, although has transitioned well... and may continue I guess. he's a winger, always has been, his attributes demonstrate this.

Scott not 'flair' enough and very much cm his strongest position... he's box to box midfielder, rather than someone who'd spend most the game on ball in final 3rd. Incredible all round game, but not quite excelling enough in winger/10 attributes to be isolated in forward position... not making best of his skillset imo. I'd be amazed if he didn't spend most his minutes in the 6/8 role, perhaps odd occassion due to injuries in more advanced role... but only when desperate.

Billing a bit too slow, lethargic and appears not AI ideal choice to play there. AI doesnt appear to see him as main man in 10 role under his reign, usually on bench now.

Brooks has virtually never played there, and is struggling in his preferred position... would have had a chance as 10 by now if Brooks rated him.

Semenyo a winger or striker. Sinesterra a winger.

Agree we are well stock for cover, can do a job at 10, but not sure we have dedicated specialist. Traore is other one, who is a 10, but again, clearly not in favour.

Wouldnt surprise me if we did sign a proper '10' tbh, to optimize us, rather than sort of shoe horning in wingers or a lethargic player, as we've done so far.

maybe if Traore comes back strong after his illness he could be the real fir for the 10 role?

Can I assume that Traore did not match our expectations? I've never seen him in action?
I think he's had a tough time here and I am not sure it has or will work. I get the philosophy of giving him time and not writing him off just yet, but apart from an alleged very lively first half down at the AMEX, he's hardly shone when he has played...

OK, so he's had is fair share of bad luck with injuries but when he has been fit, he's not really featured. The odd occasion he has played it has been as sub, or he's been subbed... We've also never won (league) when he's played...

For me, if we can get him off the books and potentially earn some return on him, we'd be foolish to take a longer punt on him...

you mean apart from his start at wolves last season where we won 1-0 and last season where he came on as a sub in our 2-1 win with fulham

Yep... apart from those occasions... ;-) In my head I was more referring to this season, so should have been more specific... The only game this season he has had an effect on was the Swansea game, where he scored our 2nd. Even the other league cup game v Stoke, he was subbed at half time when were pretty dire as a group but 2nd half turned it around...

I am sure there is a quality player in there, and like I said, he's had his fair share of bad luck with us, so whether or not these have had a serious impact on his time on the pitch, I don't know, I just don't see it working out for him here,...

For me, now we've an opportunity to loan him out, I think it will be best for both parties... Even if he's not sold as part of this move, hopefully he'll have had some game time to either improve the situation for us, or get him more in the shop window...
