It might seem obvious to say but the goalkeeper is part of the defensive unit
Is it not possible that they don’t come out for crosses because it’s not part of the way they have been told to play?

Andoni clearly stated he hadn't been dropped, and that he rewarded Travers for his patience and for training well.

Andoni will get the best out of both players and the best one will stay in the sticks.

Playing Travers will bring the best out of the both of them.

Andoni manages men at this level.

Let's let Andoni make the decisions.

Of course he said that.. but he was taken out of the starting lineup, which is what dropped means.

I'm not bitter, I am overly positive about our squad and optimistic about what they all can achieve together. We're currently doing the best we've ever done so it's easy to be positive. Other people are making lists about how shite our squad is.

It might matter to you but it doesn't to anyone else.....you said Travers struggled in the Championship....Stoke fans who actually watched him rather than a stats table would say he didn't and our fans made him player of the year whilst in the Championship and when you have a 30 goal striker that takes some doing btw.....are you saying everyone who voted for him are wrong and your stats table is right?....your whole argument is just bizarre.

Honestly I think you might be paying too much attention to fairly subjective stats.....try using your eyes.

Tend to agree with you on this one. Travers unlikely to be happy having been loaned all season to get game time to be recalled to warm the bench.

Others more in the know have also said it's a "shop window" opportunity.

100%. We don’t have a keeper of the right calibre at our club for the money we spend on wages and transfer fees that’s disappointing. We’ve got two we don’t trust to play at all hence why we had to blunt Travers career by recalling him and not playing him. It’s only right once we finally lost patience with Neto we give him a go.

Doesn’t make him the next Neuer. It’s the correct decision though. Something for Franno to get a grip of next year we need two better keepers and a young third.
