Uncomfortable for the German Greens it must be said. But the lights must stay on somehow, so it's "a necessary evil" to quote them. Similar plans afoot in Austria and the Netherlands.

Supermarkets run really tight margins on fuel, it's considered to be worth the bother only because it attracts consumers to the store.
I expect they are holding the prices to manage lower profits. I'm sure Tesco are preparing for another 5p/litre deal.
Looks like brand Boris got a big call right. Off to spend more time with the family while the new pm can blame it all on the economic shambles the new government inherited.
