Sign me up!I have heard they stick a big needle where the sun don't shine and see how you react........................................
Don’t worry, I’m immune to that shît. I’ve had my anti naïveté jab.I think a few on here would like to see that.
Try not to let it affect you too much.
That's a good stat.Statistically you're more likely to be Boris Johnson's offspring than to get a blood clot from the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Not very reassuring .........................................Statistically you're more likely to be Boris Johnson's offspring than to get a blood clot from the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Radio this morning - 30 people a year die in the bath, 1000 people a year die falling down the stairs. This whole Astra Zeneca business is well over the top. Side effects on the leaflet to my paracetamol in the cupboard.
After losing her brother she still recommends getting the jab.
Really good of her to speak out after this sad loss.
The sister of a married lawyer who died from a blood clot after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine today joined the legion of politicians and health experts encouraging people to continue taking up the jab and said: 'My brother was just extraordinarily unlucky'.
Neil Astles, 59, who lived in a £275,000 detached house in Newton-le-Willows on Merseyside, became the UK's first named victim after passing away last weekend following 10 days of severe headaches and a steady loss of vision.
Mr Astles, who married his wife Carole in 1993 and worked as a council solicitor in nearby Warrington, died on Easter Sunday.
His sister Dr Alison Astles, a pharmacist at the University of Huddersfield, said her brother was a keen runner, was 'fit and healthy' and had no history of blood clots.
But he developed a headache about a week after his vaccination March 17. When his headaches and eyesight worsened, he was rushed to A&E at the Royal Liverpool Hospital by his brother, before being admitted to intensive care, where he died more than a fortnight later.
Dr Astles told the Daily Telegraph: 'Despite what has happened to our family, we strongly believe that everyone should go for their first and second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Emotionally, we are completely and utterly furious. We are suffering. But there's nothing in our minds to be really furious about. My brother was just extraordinarily unlucky.'

Dr June Raine, the chief executive of the MHRA, said: "From these reports, the risk of this type of rare blood clot is about four people in a million who receive the vaccine."
This works out at a risk of one in 250,000, or 0.0004%.
Margaret McCartney - an NHS GP in Scotland - wrote of how the estimated incidence of a blood clot with the combined oral contraceptive pill is about five per 10,000 women per year.
This works out at a risk of one in 2,000 or 0.05%.
In the US, the National Blood Clot Alliance estimates that one in 1,000 women per year who are taking birth control pills will develop a clot, putting the risk at 0.1%.
The risk of travel-related DVT in healthy people works out at:
• One event per 106,667 flights, for flights lasting less than four hours
• One event per 4,656 flights, for flights lasting over four hours
• One event per 1,264 flights, for flights lasting over 16 hours
According to the National Blood Clot Alliance in the US, it is estimated that, even with preventative treatment, 3% of patients who undergo orthopaedic surgery (usually the reconstruction of joints) will develop DVT and 1.5% will develop pulmonary embolism (PE).

I saw the UK had supplied Australia with 700k doses of AZ this week, to help make up for gaps in their production/supply.Australia’s vaccine rollout has suffered a major shock, with an advisory slapped on the AstraZeneca vaccine warning people under 50 it may cause extremely rare but potentially deadly blood clots.
On Thursday evening, the Australian government announced it had accepted expert advice that Pfizer should now be the preferred vaccine for under 50s, who will be warned AstraZeneca should only be taken if it is clear the benefits outweigh the risks.
The chief medical officer, Paul Kelly, stressed the incidence of blood clots was extremely rare, at four to six cases per million vaccine recipients, but the complication can cause a death rate of up to 25% when it occurs.
Australia’s vaccine rollout, which has just reached the 1m mark, has so far administered 400,000 AstraZeneca doses, with just one instance of the blood clot issue, which has shown up in Britain and the European Union, where the rollout is further advanced.
The advisory will place great strain on Australia’s vaccination timeline, as 50m doses of AstraZeneca to be produced at CSL’s facility in Melbourne are the centrepiece of Australia’s supply. Expert advice recognised the safety concern would increase vaccine hesitancy and delay the rollout.

Genuine question DJ: is this comparing like with like? Without going back through the reports I think that in the UK there have been 20 million people vaccinated with the AZ vaccine, of whom about 80 developed blood clots and 19 died. So about a quarter of people developing blood clots died.
Are the other examples of blood clotting as severe? For example, do a quarter of the one in two thousand women who develop blood clots from the pill die as a result? That means a one in 8,000 risk of death from taking the contraceptive pill. I find it hard to believe that would be tolerated in such a widely available drug.
