Our away support

Recall a saturday game at Rochdale in Nov 1977. Crowd was 962 so god knows what the away attendance was. Sat in the main stand as we got free tickets off a player. Drew 0-0, Micky Cave put a penalty over the bar and over the home end stand roof. When we got back to the coach it wouldn't start as some kind Rochdale person had dumped a lot of crap in the diesel tanks. Driver told us to go and get some beer and food while a local garage sent someone out to syphon the tanks and refill. Managed to find a Wilsons pub where the barmaid said did we want our beer served in sleevers or schooners (translated to straight or handled glass).
Those were the days, finished 17th that season in the old Div 4, Rochdale finished bottom.

I did many away trips on John and Lucille's coach. Happy days.
Likewise, we must have been on the same coach a few times... and probably sat in Port Vale social club coming back from somewhere else - I never did fully understand that.

As there's a bit of a violence theme running on here now... did you, @adam0102 or anyone else for that matter, attend a function in a Fordingbridge restaurant organised by John and Lucille for coach regulars?

About half way through the meal the Fordingbridge Massive (yes :grinning:) turned up and absolutely trashed the place, ending the evening rather abruptly, all down to some obscure grievance.

By all accounts some fine young people from the South End popped up and returned the compliment a few days later...
