Play Off final move to accomodate CL Final?

That would be great if they keep the play offs for the bank holiday weekend. What happens if ours gets moved to the Tuesday? A lot harder for people to go plus a knackered pitch.
L2 would go to Friday night and we would get Sunday or Monday. Ironically we were only moved due to Euros to give players and extra 2 days if they are involved!

This has happened before, and L2 always got shoved to Friday night. Ultimately the Championship final is the flagship of the three play off finals.

Would they want the pitch played on before the CL final?

Not necessarily. The stadium has to hold the correct UEFA categorisation. I can’t be bothered to look it up but it’s a grading system which, for finals, includes things like VIP seats, press facilities, broadband, changing room sizes and facilities etc.
.

Why does it need to meet all these criteria in the current environment? We don't need 1,000 overseas VIPs, loads of extra TV crews or press in attendance, or extra camera angles. Any Premier league team will have perfectly adequate facilities.

SO UEFA can choose - in Turkey with no fans, or at (eg) Villa Park with minimal VIPs, TV or press in attendance.

Any recent PL club will have those facilities, including Dean Court, plus of course a first-rate pitch.

This is from the Guardian under the heading,

Champions League final could be switched from Istanbul to Wembley

"An exemption for a crowd of 25,000 [for the Champions League final] might have to be agreed if the final was to be moved to London, and there is speculation the EFL would also expect a crowd of 25,000 to be allowed into the play-off final were it be forced to change."

If so, AND WE GET THERE, all the season ticket holders, all those with maximum home points and those with a decent amount of away points could attend.

So:-

- move the final of the Chelsea-City sideshow to Wembley
- allow 25k in to the more significant play off match as well
- we smash Brentford and get to go.

As an away game, then don’t away points count above home points?

As a footballing country in the Green category that sounds good at face value, when we get there eventually I would much prefer a trip abroad for the big game rather than home based stadium
But
With Portugal likely to be full to brim of tourists given it being one of the few decent destinations people can holiday to, I suspect all reasonably priced flights/accommodation are fully booked, and fan would be ripped off to the max

Fans will still need a PCR test before leaving the UK. A PCR test before leaving for the UK and another PCR test on day 2 back in the UK. That will add at least another £200 to the trip.

It may well be away from home but it’s absolutely not an away game

Not really worth arguing about - just saying away points need to be considered.

Anyway, using your logic it definitely is not a home game and ST only count for home games.
