I don't have strong opinions either way on RH but I do have a feeling this is our loss and Liverpool's gain.
I hope it’s Neil Dawson.Liverpool FC.
One of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world, highly rate Richard Hughes and employ him in a vital role.

Now who do you think knows best?
I think I might agree.I hope it’s Neil Dawson.
I hate seeing the bin dippers do well.

Indeed. Time will tell!Silly old Liverpool Neil… if only they’d asked.
My issues were his inability to find a manager with a good philosophy to build on Eddies legacies until the fifth attempt and that there were too many miss signings that will hurt us moving forwards as they will get taken into consideration for FFP.Fair points. But I dont get what the issue with Hughes is then?

There have been good signings and I like his current manager choice. I’ve never said everything he does is wrong. Just the balance in my opinion not good enough.
It’s only a black and white world when people paint it that way.
I think Scott Parker was the right manager at the right time.My issues were his inability to find a manager with a good philosophy to build on Eddies legacies until the fifth attempt and that there were too many miss signings that will hurt us moving forwards as they will get taken into consideration for FFP.

This is hilarious. You continually referred to him as Hughesless. I don't even need to trawl back through posts to recall that. Now you're Coming over as the voice of reason. My issues were his inability to find a manager with a good philosophy to build on Eddies legacies until the fifth attempt and that there were too many miss signings that will hurt us moving forwards as they will get taken into consideration for FFP.

That was his whole world view. Rely on having the better players to produce the 'moments' off their own back rather than systematically, and just point the whole system at containing all other variables on the pitch.Yes, I do agree with you re the manager sourcing after Howe left.
I know others disagree, but imo they did make a right mess of that.
Worked out in the end, although with a deadly dull brand of football under Parker, despite having phenomenal squad.
Start to 2nd season was outstanding, looked resolute at back with Cahill... although we did seem to sit awfully deep defending 1 goal leads iirc.
Had god awful run as winter set in and almost cost us... but ultimately worked out ok.
Parkers ability to adapt and change tempo was p1ss poor imo. Recall frustrating home games, tapping it around with no real incision in final 3rd. Billing bailing us out with 'moments' of brilliance quite often.
They must have been aware of his brand of football after watching/keeping tabs on him so long.
I reckon seduced by his stature as player? Although tbf, although he wasnt particularly likeable I think he's likely very resolute, natural leader... given captaincy's he held over his playing career. No doubt that 'steel' appealed to the directors, as we needed someone to simply get us over the line.

It worked, brilliantly for a while and not so much for a while, and at a lower level. We were useful for one another for that time period. He flushed it all away after promotion of course! But I struggle to call it a bad appointment.
AI is a totally different level of prospect. We're very lucky to have lured him IMHO and will need some succession plan sooner or later.
Indeed. Time will tell!
That's what I said Billy stop copying me.All about opinions, but Hughes has been part of AFCB’s success over many seasons.
He will be our loss and Liverpool’s gain.
You’re choosing to remember the bits you want to remember Rob, or banter. This is hilarious. You continually referred to him as Hughesless. I don't even need to trawl back through posts to recall that. Now you're Coming over as the voice of reason.
Must say I missed your post. That's what I said Billy stop copying me.
I didn’t rate Hughes, I’m glad he’s gone and I’m in the camp of more miss than hit with his signings.
Is that because you have me on ignore?Must say I missed your post.
But as they say great minds ……….
