Scott Parker

Some have a go at our board re time taken to appoint a manager, but it’s the same for a number of clubs, in some cases the manager they want is also on the list other clubs want.

This could be the case as far as AFCB go, Crystal Palace and Fulham reported to want Steve Cooper, it looked like Palace had dropped out in favour of another candidate, that candidate fell through, so Cooper is back in the frame today.

Fulham also want Cooper from reports, but we’re unwilling to pay compensation, so that has possibly held up Parker leaving Fulham for AFCB.

So we may have seen various versions of the latest saga in these transfers, but with these twists and turns at various clubs, things may not be as clear cut as was first reported.
Conversely some clubs have a clear strategy with long term plans and have already appointed a manager. West Brom being one of several.

All this is part of Boscombe Footy History...we are a part of it....there is nothing else like it....and those of you that mostly talk cr@p and don't quite get what is or isn't going on...dont worry, just enjoy the 'craic.

But in our case isn’t that the plan with Parker? Only this deal is being held up through other clubs in the equation.

Over the next season or so, we will see if the manager our club appoints lives up to expectations.

I wonder if it’s something to do with Woodgate under contract till 30 June.
Would Parker signing signify Woodgate is sacked as he is not quite out of contact.
Although it for the stop Parker and Fulham coming to an agreement.

Could be. Or could be that we have never been close to acquiring Parker and that every word that comes out of the mouth of this random Fulham fan is not gospel. Wouldn’t be surprised if we held on hoping for Parker, miss out on him, Woodgate has already departed by this point, and we end up appointing Purches.

...Palace do seem to have struggled to get a big name in to manage them...although Nuno Espirito Santo was quite a long one!
Interesting that Eddie isn't being linked to these jobs....he can't be applying for any of them.
Looks like the poor bloke Fulham have locked in a hotel room will get a lucky break.

Or maybe he just isn’t desired by this level of club? Am pretty sure at that level, the club will source out the coach that they want, and not visa versa

This level of club?.....Palace?.......the fact that they are thinking of Cooper would dispel that theory tbh.

Some of you might mock this Fulham lad & his information might be complete bollox, but at least he gives you something to talk about!

Unlike our useless local rag journalists, who it seems can't be arsed to do a bit digging into what is going on over at the club.

Instead, all they seem content on doing is reporting absolute drivel or recycled stuff from the nationals & the club website.

Has Perrett gone into summer hibernation?

It seems things have been agreed between Rafa Benitez and Everton, should be announced next week as the new manager.

So looks like another club manager sorted.

No it doesn’t. And by this level of club I mean PL club. Fact is, if a Prem club actually wanted Eddie then he would be employed now. If Palace wanted him he’d be insane not to take it. He has God like status here, but this clouds the perceptions of some of our supporters I feel. Not sure Prem clubs really care about being promoted through the leagues on his CV, they just see a man who kept a club around mid table in the PL on roughly a mid table budget for 4 years and then eventually got relegated. Whether our fans can accept it or not, at the top level he’s not viewed in the same way that he is here. He was crazy not to take the Celtic job. He has got to hope and pray that Brighton fancy him if potter moves on.

Yeah, pretty much agree with that. I look on the rise up through the divisions as a slightly bigger achievement than keeping us in the Premier league with millions at his disposal.

Yes done within a matter of hours, no, days then, no, oh weeks then and linked with several first before settling on third choice. Great example.
