Sheffield U v AFC Bournemouth

Quite looking forward to this one.

They have had an awesome season, with a magnificent 23 GA. But only 26 GF. I could barely name three players if pushed, so it should be interesting watching.

We defend well with the right line-up, midfield will be a challenge with Lerma absent but that was on the cards (bad pun alert) with him on 9 before last week - and I would almost prefer having him back against Burnley. I foresee 1-0 either way or maybe a 1-1 draw.

Our game is sandwiched between Brighton-Watford and Man City-West Ham .... this will be a very interesting weekend.

No of course not. And I agree it kind of looked like we didn’t WANT to win that game since there was maybe an understandable sense ( even amongst our own players, who are not immune to media hype ) that if we did, the whole world would see us as the heartless bad guys for kicking Cardiff when they were down and so deserving of our sympathy. But that was only an issue BECAUSE of the whole media bullshit surrounding that game. It wasn’t allowed to be just another Premier League fixture. We were on a hiding to nothing and the officials were going to do their best to ensure that absolutely nothing was also what we got ! Effectively that game was a dead rubber, three points we were extremely unlikely to get, purely as a result of the agenda surrounding that game. Very unfortunate for us, it wasn’t our fault, just the way events and the fixture list collided. At least we did the decent thing ( as always ) and lost !
I just don’t like the way the odds were stacked against us. Of course the way Cardiff subsequently “honoured” their contract for someone they at the time conveniently proclaimed as “always a bluebird” and his family just adds to my sense of injustice about the whole thing.
The worst type of “ look at me , I’m so upset “ grief lite nonsense.

I haven’t been there before (no, not even that game), anyone know how exposed the away section is? I see there’s a roof obviously but we’re in the bottom section so might be in for a damp afternoon.
Yep, lower section and facing ENE so with a howling south-westerly wind we’ll be completely sheltered; the wind will be pretty much blowing down the pitch

This is good news.

Good to get them back involved before we have the Winter break and then come back to face Burnley.

CHERRIES: #AFCB boss Eddie Howe says Joshua King & Jack Stacey “have a chance” of being involved at #SUFC on Sunday. Danjuma (foot) still “some way away”. Lerma suspended.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning, Howe told the media: “Joshua and Jack have trained this week and are both getting close. We’ll have to make decision if we involve them on Sunday.”

Howe also confirmed long-term injury victim David Brooks was still “some way away” from a return but said the 22-year-old was making progress.

“He’s back in England,” said Howe, with Brooks having spent time in Qatar receiving specialist treatment. “He was running on the grass for the first time yesterday.”

Colleague of mine saw Nathan and Ryan on the beach and asked them why a sudden turn around in fortunes has taken place

CONFIDENCE was their reply

Long may it continue

Was that lack of confidence in a forthcoming deal from Arsenal?

Just listened to Eddie’s press conference on COWS, he was asked a variety of questions.

One was about the possibility of Lionel Messi coming to the Premier League, Eddie said our club would be interested. ;)

Another re life time ban from AFCB re someone from this area.

It is an interview worth listening to, Eddie never avoids a question and always gives an honest answer.
