Tyrone Mings

Since when did the buying club pay the selling club's obligation from the last deal? That's very odd for Villa to agree to.
The more that comes out about this, the more desperate it seems Villa were.

I think it’s a regular request, just a weird way of breaking it up to report it.

We wanted to bank £20million. To do that due to the sell on clause the up front fee had to be £21.5million.

Also emerged #avfc have to pay #itfc an additional £1.5m as part of the Mings deal. They had a sell-on clause when he moved to #bournemouth. Total up-front fee £21.5m. Another £5m could be paid in instalments if he helps Villa into Europe, and plays regularly for England.

In all honesty I think we can kiss goodbye to the extra £5M

They really are spending the money and including another centre back.

VILLA CLOSE ON LUIZ
It could be two major signings in one day for Aston Villa, with Sky sources indicating they are close to signing Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The newly-promoted Premier League club are closing on a £15m deal for the 21-year-old, which would take their summer spending to almost £100m.

Luiz has spent most of the last two seasons on loan at Girona, playing 46 times in La Liga and the Copa Del Ray, as well as featuring heavily for Brazil in the recent Toulon Tournament.

ENGELS ON HIS WAY TO VILLA

Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign their fourth centre-back of the transfer window with Reims defender Bjorn Engels on his way to Villa Park, Sky Sports News understands.

Villa have already signed Kortney Hause from Wolves, Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth and Ezri Konsa from Brentford but Dean Smith believes another defender is essential for their first season back in the Premier League.

How much have they spent so far?

Definitely shades of Fulham here, even if they do need to replace a lot of lost loanees. Do they really need this many CBs?? They're looking a bit light in the attacking areas.

Nah it’s tactical genius actually. They’re working on the basis that if they never concede they are guaranteed at least 38 points and thus a decent bet for survival. Genius. Absolute genius.

I don't know what you're on Bill, but whatever it is, keep it well away from me

Villa have spent in the region of 100 million so far. not bad for a club who are said to be having money problems.
Fulham tried this solution and failed miserably.
