Lewis Cook

We lost 4-0 to a team that couldn’t buy a win.

We have a full England international who we all agree is the most talented midfielder we have owned who can’t get near the side.

Either this is a selection error or we have let him go off the boil and not developed and motivated him correctly. Either is wrong and needs calling out. Spurs and Liverpool were looking to sign him..we are not talking about whether Mousset should start instead of Wilson here. Cook and Ake are the best two players on our books. We are not Man City...we need to probably start our best players.

The same thing happened last season if you remember...the usual few on here saying ‘we don’t see them in training so we can’t comment’ while Cook sat on the bench before he finally arrived to run the midfield and rescue us. We may not need rescuing this season but we have hardly had testing fixtures.

Time to get him in the side Eddie and bench the favourites.

There's no room for excuses - if Cook has gone off the boil it's down to him to get on the boil. If he can't do that he doesn't deserve to start top talent or not.

Up until now he's hardly had grounds for complaint because he has been bang average in the games he has played and the team has been winning. They've lost heavily now so if he shows decent form against Blackburn he'll get his place back. It's down to him to take his chance.

Why exactly do you think Lewis should play? I have been at all the games, including cup game and unfortunately Lewis hasn't been playing as well as he can do, since the summer, on the times when he has come on as a sub. Places have to be earned.
I expect to see Lewis play on Tuesday

Many of the team were poor yesterday and yes we probably did miss Gos. Hopefully he will be back for Palace game.

Because he’s one of our brightest and best players. Or else he wouldn’t be in contention for England or offered a new contract. The point I’m making is the Surman ahead of Lewis is puzzling and the only reason he didn’t play the first game is because Eddie wanted to start the season with the Marseille starting 11. That was his own words. Since then Lerma and Rico have walked into the team (ok, Daniels is Injured), just seems odd.

EDDIE Howe insists Lewis Cook will have a “big part” to play for Cherries this season despite his limited match action in their first four Premier League games.

Asked by the Daily Echo about his central midfield options, boss Howe said: “Going back to before the first game, we picked the team, basically, that we had against Marseille where we produced a really good performance.

“I didn’t want to deviate from that team for the first game and Lewis has fallen victim to that. He will have a big part to play this season, I have no doubt about that.

“He has come on in games and done well and played in the Carabao Cup, which was good to see.

“We have a very strong unit in central midfield and have some very good players all competing for two places. Lewis has a big future ahead of him.”

No,but how do you know Cook is dropped for loss of form

the point is Surman was dropped for the Chelsea game yet back in ahead of Cook at Burnley, who was dropped at the start of the season, yet Cook got ten mins in the Leicester game and Surman still gets in ahead of him

He’s hardly going to say.

“Yes put Lewis Cook on and he failed to complete a pass for 10 minutes, so he’s on the bench for now”...

Anyway I believe Cook should get a run of games to prove himself, again. He was good last season and is the future of the club, but that's only my opinion.Im saying no more on the matter as it's draining me.

That's your opinion about the Everton game not fact

He had a 15 minute run out where his pass completion rate was a mere 56%.

During the first 2/3rds of that appearance he was particularly poor. He improved for the final 5 minutes.

They were the facts.

My opinion hasn’t changed from that game and just like after that fixture I hoped he’d have a cracking game in the Football League Cup and make it impossible for Howe to not include him in the next Premier League game. They are my hopes again now.

Cook hasn't shown enough in the games he has played either in pre season, the cup or his league cameos - it's as simple as that. He will get another chance against Blackburn so let's hope he takes it this time.

I don’t think anyone is disputing this. It’s more that certain players are allowed to gain confidence back in the first team and others aren’t. If this was done in a pecking order of how good they are it would make more sense.... but it isn’t.
