Non - Brexit

Please don't accuse me of justifying moronic behaviour - you're out of order.

What I'm accusing you of is generalising a whole group of people based on the actions of a minority. I've argued alongside you on here when people do that about minorities such as Muslims so you shouldn't be doing it here.
Fair point but I’m afraid the behaviour of some on the leave side recently leaves a sour taste and there is little evidence of such behaviour being condemned.

As a Leave Voter...and thats all you can really do....vote......I say Good Luck to whichever side gets their best outcome of whats on offer!
Then we all adjust our lives accordingly....with no sympathy to politicians who have been paid well to draw this mess out with only their own agendas in mind!

When it comes to 3 million on a petition....thats not a great figure from a population of 65 million plus is it ?
A million on a march? So thats under 5 million that are really that bothered...pretty Limp in the big picture!
I respect the views of both sides..... and the country stlll has to pull together after the Divas get off the stage !

It's different circumstances. A group of losers marching to get another vote, they're not even guaranteed to win the 2nd time round, against a bunch of really pissed off folk who have had democracy overruled.

Without doubt if we don't leave there will be marches that make todays look divvy 2 and it won't be pretty.

I'm a little intrigued however. We have a forum of mainly socialists willing for democracy to be undermined (no surprise there) but supporting a Capitalist EU. There was no chance of todays march being hijacked by the usual suspects as they are as confused as hell.

Too be fair, there's a few sandal wearing Liberals on here as well, but, they're even more confused ever since their party got into bed with the Tories. :)

I phrased it wrong . Not as in the forum is mainly socialist but those opposing brexit on here are batting on that side or at least the left (awaits a list of Tory voters telling me I'm talking bollox)
I think you’re right. Those left of centre ( but not extreme left) are in favour of remaining and those right of centre ( and I’m afraid extreme right) are in favour of leaving. Don’t forget, even Karl Marx argued in favour of non greedy capitalism.

He's also right in that it is quite a confusing position for left wing people to be so vociferously supporting a capitalist trade body - sometimes even to the extent that the views of the British public should be overridden for the benefit of this organisation.

A capitalist trade body that protects the environment, protects workers rights and clamps down on the greed of big businesses and banks. All of which the British government has proved to be an abject failure in dealing with.

Quite a subjective opinion that tbf, the UK government has a mixed record on these things as does the EU. I just don't get the argument that UK voters need the largely undemocratic EU to protect them from the decisions they make at the ballot box.

I was looking at the Socialist party viewpoint. (The only reason I mentioned it was that they were hanging a bloody great flag off a bridge today) and then I wondered why they didn't smash the place up as usual. They support freedom of movement but not when its being used to support Capitalism in the form of a labour force...which is exactly what the UK and Germany have done.

Protecting the environment ? Does that and uncontrolled Immigration go hand in hand. Not on my travels around the UK it doesn't.
