Burnley -The verdict.

I don’t disagree, but tbf Burnley reached another level of shithousery today. The Barnes dive was almost artfully cunty.

But yeah, we were well on top for most of the second half, but we just didn’t create nearly enough. I would have been so ELATED with a draw considering the context of the game tbh.
Barnes should have been booked for that utterly disgraceful attempt to get Billing sent off. Disgrace to his profession.
Really pisses me off that the incident is checked for a possible red card but not a dive. Not many players I would happily see get injured but he is one of them.

Today was just a combination of the biggest shithouse team we’ve seen in the prem and a consistently inept ref who allowed them to execute their game plan to perfection

I can’t even really analyse our performance because I don’t think the ball was in play long enough to do so. More NFL than rugby today with stoppages every 10 seconds.

Will judge the team/performance when we get back to football on Boxing Day.

Atkinson the worst ref ever

Well, part of me enjoyed today. Lots of niggle, lots to shout about, fans cared, players did some nice stuff and showed they cared.
Much rather that than walking away after some games thinking the players were happy on auto pilot collecting their pay cheques.

Hit with a sucker punch at the end. It’s what they do and it’s why Sean Dyche has a job.

We lacked decision making in the final third, especially the first half with the 4-3-3, Gosling and Lewis Cook were anonymous and King far too deep.

Created a bit more second half but was all a bit huff and puff.

Still happy to walk home taking the moral high ground and know I don’t have to watch that every week.

Fair play to the travelling fans, fair to say I wouldn’t spend the money watching that all over the country.

If you dive in the opposition penalty area it is a bookable offence.

Why is diving in your own area attempting to get someone sent off not a bookable offence?

Barnes would/could/should have been sent off for 2 yellows

Another Hessentaler

Rico banned for Arsenal as well?

what do we actually do now.

What we do is get ourselves a creative midfielder who can play a decent ball in and around the area - better still if they’ve got a shot in them. Cos it seems there’s no one in the squad to play that role.

Kilkenny? ... why doesn’t Eddie give him a shout? If not, transfer window opens in a few days. If we’re inactive on a midfield recruit I’ll start really worrying.

Burnley horrible

Barnes a cheat

we can’t score

please sign a striker in January

practice crossing and dead ball deliveries

sell Fraser

I would imagine that Kilkenny’s recently signed new contract reflects his newly acquired first team squad status ( i.e. more money ). On that basis I would hope that it means that Eddie is more likely to play him now. I thought today’s game would have been a great opportunity to give him 20 minutes, so was very surprised when we didn’t. I think we need him now. He could be the creative spark we need in midfield. Surely Eddie can’t continue to ignore him much longer ?
