No..your not having that..you rarely do when it comes to my output.!.
I don't consider I've dug myself any holes...I just say what a lot of people my age think about modern ways !
You can ' upset' me as much as you like...I'll get over it !
Well I'm your age, and certainly don't agree with 90% of what you say.....there you go again thinking you speak for the majority of people your age......sad

I'll take the hit...but probably won't deviate much from my thinking...I wont hide or hold back what I think...and don't expect anyone else to.
...or smash my car into people's premises . and walk away! :loser:

Mods, can you merge all the "All About Brian" threads together?
On second thoughts, maybe not, there wouldn't be many other threads left.

Well did they seem depressed to you?

I spent last evening with two people, two women, mother and daughter 49 and 21, in my family, who have severe Muscular Dystrophy, major mobility problems, cooped up from lockdown measures... been unable to do their Wheelchair Football this year . I made them laugh for 3 hours...they get depressed , I get told by others. .but never mention it themselves !

They have minimal Money and Resources...just carers twice a week and me popping in here and there...too proud to ask for more...the younger one struggling but determined to get her Art Degree..She will be lucky to reach her mothers age...and she knows that.
I actually asked her, tentatively, last night, about Depression...she laughed at me and said nothing else...
Doesnt that answer your point? Sometimes its not easy to spot.

Just had to come back and post on this thread. Three members of my close family are diagnosed as depressed and suffering from extreme anxiety. At times they can have a good laugh with other people but the 'black dog' as Churchill called it always rears it's ugly head and takes over again. As said above, no signs on the forehead or often no other physical sign of this terrible illness which not only affects the sufferer but many others around them. I don't like some of the comments made on this thread.

Agree....but my main concern is how it seems to be hyped up in the Celebrity World and top end of Football.
the reason why it's "hyped up" as you call it is because depression is on the rise and any form of role model/celebrity highlighting the fact its ok to talk about it and you can get help is a good thing. I suggest you look at the subject a little bit more before you decide to make your "edgy" comments on it

" mental health week ". as promulgated by ' the media '..the Press.

If its an Issue..then its for everyone of course..Footballers Yes !..and its not just about Money..as someone mentioned...but advantages come with that Money...to purchase ' ways out'..' help'...flash and easily arranged and paid for holidays anywhere. Dubai !.... chic houses and clothing ( 'looking good' was mentioned in that clip!) the flash cars etc.

Caroline Flack had all of that...what’s your point?

Brian, have you never heard the expression "tears of a clown" ?

It's often the case that people who appear to be outwardly jolly and happy are in fact deeply depressed inside. There are many famous comedians, for example, who suffer badly from depression.
Or very famous people like Buzz Aldrin who suffered from depression after achieving the ultimate, going to the Moon

I'm sticking with my theory that things get hyped up in the media..I'm sorry if that grates on peoples feelings...but I've got into that way of thinking somehow and will try some introspection and see what comes along...I've said what I've said so I'm not going to suddenly jump on a fence.

I had a good reputation when I worked for several years in Care of Dementia patients..and only came out of it because I wasn't happy with how the Finance was applied by the Managements.

I've got a huge dislike of how the Media operates and of Celebrity Culture...and generally how Money controls things in the way that it does...you see it in my posts regarding the PL for example....these aspects are at the basis of my Forum contributions.

Best for all concerned if now I shut my Gob!
